Michelle and Queen Breach Protocol
During the meeting with the Queen of England, The Obama’s were to meet and take pictures, exchange gifts etc. with the Queen and her husband, Charles. There are specific protocols put in place during these traditional meet and greets and many are saying they were breached.
Michelle Obama appeared to have put her arm around the Queen and touching is usually a breach of protocol, meanwhile others argue that the monarchy in England has become more relaxed in recent years and the Queen initiated the touch. However, others also point out that Michelle moving in-between the Queen and Charles was another faux pas.
Much has been made about Michelle’s wardrobe abroad and I would personally like to ask if she paid for those clothes and all those outfits herself or is that taxpayer money? Do we remember the huge deal that the liberals made out of Sarah Palin’s wardrobe which actually was for her entire family and some other staff members?
Michelle Obama has also been criticized for her liberal hugs, as the Brits are calling them.
That was as about classless as you could get with the Queen. As I recall, when a Gentleman greets the Queen, one should bow to the Queen, and only touch if she extends her hand. Not go up there and shake it like she is a drinking buddy!
When a Lady greets the Queen, one should curtsy and bow the head slightly. Not grab and hug the queen!
And bringing the Queen an I-Pod as a gift, from a formal head of state? WTF-over!! That is about as embarrassing as it gets.
Once again the crack staff over at Obama HQ was outside the circle. I mean what, they hit the White House gift shop on the way to AF-1?
