John McAmnesty Changing His Tune?
John McCain recently had a meeting with the Hispanic Business Leaders and his infamous temper seemed to have gotten the best of him. McCain, it has been said, has been known to hold a grudge or two and it would appear that this grudge is pointed in the right direction.
John McCain sounds angry and frustrated that, despite the risks he took in pushing immigration reform, Hispanic voters flocked to Democrat Barack Obama in last year’s presidential contest. McCain’s raw emotions burst forth recently as he heatedly told Hispanic business leaders that they should now look to Obama, not him, to take the lead on immigration…
“He was angry,” one source said. “He was over the top. In some cases, he rolled his eyes a lot. There were portions of the meeting where he was just staring at the ceiling, and he wasn’t even listening to us. We came out of the meeting really upset.”
McCain’s message was obvious, the source continued: Aftertwo bucking his party on immigration, he had no sympathy for Hispanics who are dissatisfied with President Obama’s pace on the issue. “He threw out [the words] ‘You people — you people made your choice. You made your choice during the election,’ ” the source said. “It was almost as if [he was saying] ‘You’re cut off!’ We felt very uncomfortable when we walked away from the meeting because of that.”
Sources said that McCain upset a couple of individuals attending the meeting, but his press release denies that his temper or demeanor was as bad as it is being made out to be.
I say either way, maybe McCain will come to his senses and realize that the idea of amnesty is detrimental to our society and our economy and that it’s not such a bad thing to be more conservative! Let Obama and the Democrats lay in the bed they make.
House Democrats Gear Up For Another Immigration Debate this Year
Who knows – maybe they will find another rule like reconciliation to pass through their immigration agenda without any republican or conservative input.
We have so many RINOs in congress right now that it is almost laughable that this will not be passed. There will be a huge backlash by the public, but the senators and representatives in DC are so far removed from the real world they will go ahead and pass it anyway. (Just my guess – and I hope I’m proven wrong)!
Breaking Article on the Hill ~ below are some quotes:
Moving broad legislation that would put millions of illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship seemed politically impossible until fairly recently and may still end up too hot for Congress to touch.
Yet Obama sent a signal this month to Hispanic Democrats that he is still committed to the cause and that he plans to host a White House immigration summit before the end of May. That has bolstered the hopes of the legislation’s biggest advocates on Capitol Hill.
“In a sense we’ve been given the green light to have more robust discussions about this,” House Democratic Caucus Vice Chairman Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) said.
“The signal was clear to Congress that we can be instrumental in getting things going,” Becerra said of the March 18 meeting with Obama. “Now, from the practical side, the question is, How do we set the table to move this forward?”
