Gird Your Blogs! Cyber Security Czar To Be Named In Coming Weeks
President Barack Obama is calling digital security a top priority, whether it’s guarding the computer systems that keep the lights on in the city and direct airliners to the right runway or those protecting customers who pay their bills online.
To oversee an enhanced security system for the nation’s computer networks, Obama is creating a “cyber czar” as part of a long-awaited plan stemming from a review he ordered shortly after taking office.
On Friday, Obama is expected to lay out broad goals for dealing with cyber threats while depicting the U.S. as a digital nation that needs to provide the education required to keep pace with technology and attract and retain a cyber-savvy work force. He also is expected to call for a new education campaign to raise public awareness of the challenges and threats related to cyber security.
The review, however, will not dictate how the government or private industry should tighten digital defenses. Critics say the cyber czar will not have sufficient budgetary and policy-making authority over securing computer systems and spending.
With the political schemes and games going on in DC since Obama’s election – it would come as no surprise if Obama’s administration and the progressives in Congress elected for a backdoor approach to control the Net.
The Fairness Doctrine was a “no-go” due mainly to the fact that word got out to too many people on what it actually meant/entailed. There was discussion of the next approach which would be localization or another cleverly termed piece of legislation called media diversity. Each form of media regulation would have loopholes allowing for specific media outlets or sites to be regulated and/or abolished if standards were not met.
From The Daily Uprising:
Today, President Obama will announce the creation of a new White House cyber-czar position with the power to promulgate security regulations and shut down private networks connected to the global internet.
There is no doubt that security measures are necessary to protect the internet. That’s why the last administration requested and got considerable funding from Congress for increased military and law enforcement internet security efforts from the NSA, Pentagon, FBI, and DHS. What there is still doubt about is how Obama’s plan to further fracture the United States’ efforts by adding Obama’s political team at the White House to the mix is going to help matters. We don’t oppose efforts to coordinate the nation’s internet defense amongst agencies, but when it comes to the White House determining security certification standards, micromanaging military procedure, or pulling the plug on networks, we dissent.
Given the Chrysler “Dealergate” uncovered by right-wing blogs, one could only assume that Obama and his cronies would attempt to use the Cyber Security Czar to block these blogs. Most news nowadays comes from the Internet. On a rare occasion I will tune into the news, but I tend to find that blogs and Internet forums provide me with up-to-the-minute information and become more and more significant. TV news seems to run a day or two behind the blogosphere and what better way for the liberals to silence the opposition or dumb down the rest of America so they have no idea what is really going on!
Will the liberals cry, protest, and whine about Obama’s big “brothering” of the Net? He has already expanded up on Bush’s wire-tapping and now he is going for the Internet… One would think this would be an issue for them…

US Attorneys Office Tells Employees in Massachusetts that Drudge Report Contains Viruses
The latest censorship news from a liberal state: “don’t “log” onto Drudge it has viruses.” I don’t think you can log onto the Drudge Report, technically speaking or at least I didn’t have to earlier today when I was on there…
This is ludicrous – viruses are all over the net and on almost every website page. Although the US Attorney’s office states that this is not political, something seems incredibly fishy to me.
I guess being infected with the truth is no longer trendy!
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.
In an e-mail message sent May 4, Paul Harvey, an information-technology official for the Boston office, wrote that security specialists with the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the Department of Justice asked them “to reformat/reimage two computers because the user visited the drudgereport.com site.”
“Please avoid the Drudgereport website from the [United States Attorney’s Office] computers,” Harvey wrote.
Harvey said that if employees had a “work-related reason to visit the site,” access could be provided off the government network.
Asked why the conservative-leaning news aggregator and President Barack Obama critic was flagged by Internet security officials, Tracy Schmaler, a Department of Justice spokeswoman, said it was because “a malicious code was found contained in a Web ad on Drudge.”
Censorship Now Chic in ObamaNation
Wasn’t it the liberals who were so incensed over the Patriot Act? Fearful and upset that their phones and other means of communication were being tapped? I may have been ignorant at the time, which does occur from time to time, but the Patriot Act never really bothered me given what occurred on 9/11. I had nothing to be afraid of, I don’t send out threatening or suspicious messages to friends and family via my LG Verizon wireless texts or my work email on outlook. However, I can understand the point that this act was technically not under the laws governing the constitution – and see the point of the argument against it.
However, what I do not understand is the apparent lack of acknowledgement that is occurring while specific TV and radio personalities are being called out by the current administration, the media – or the propaganda arm of the DNC, and the president himself. Does this not hint at a possible infringement on our freedom of speech? Fearing that if you speak out against the president you will be taken down by the media or called on the carpet during a press conference. I, for one, am nervous about this sheer act of narcissism and immaturity. It’s as if we are now in middle school and the in-crowd is picking on the kid that stood up to them or went against them – the kid is going to get picked on until he/she either falls apart, crumbles or starts agreeing with their agenda and values. This definitely comes right out of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. (Part 1 & Part 2). At least nobody appears to be backing down – and that is something I am very happy about!
Take for example, Rick Santelli, who recently stood up against the so aptly named “Porkulus” bill that passed the US Congress as well as the President himself, with a historical and record breaking amount of pork, which will surely put us and future generations on the road to serfdom – forever indebted to the government. Santelli was just tired of the bailouts for both individuals and companies who made horrible judgment calls and irresponsible decisions. Those of us who have been responsible are now being forced to pay for others’ mistakes and actions, creating a moral hazard and enabling this behavior. When I made mistakes as a child or made poor choices, I was taught a lesson, I had to take responsibility for my actions and resolve the mess I made by learning from those mistakes. We were promised this ambiguous “change” from the incoming administration, but it appears that rewarding failure and continuing these bailouts, which appear to be pay-offs to democratic campaign donors, masked as an economic stimulus, is the change. We should also take note of the TARP II suggestion by Geithner, or another aptly named bill, the Mortgage “cram down” bill, which allows people who defaulted on loans to stay in their homes for five years and gives the private contracts to bankruptcy courts who can step in and modify the terms of the loan in favor of the borrower, causing banks to lose more money and tighten up credit more so than it is now. On a personal note, this is already occurring. I just went into the Mini Dealership to purchase another car and due to the vague excuse that I did not have sufficient collateral, but great credit, was denied a loan. Yet Obamabots think this will stimulate the economy…
Reaction by Gibbs (Obama’s press secretary)
Santelli’s retort to Gibbs
Santelli has every right to voice his concern, dislike and opinion on any bill or policy of the Obama administration. I do not recall President Bush or Dana Perino going after Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews or even Katie Couric (when she cried as he won a second term) at a press conference.
Jim Cramer has always been a little dramatic and fired up when it comes to trading on the market. He recently came out and railed against what is occurring in our economy, calling it the biggest and most intentional act of wealth destruction he has ever seen:
Something to note is that Cramer is a lifetime liberal – who happens to agree with a lot of Obama’s policies but not at this point in time when our economy is in crisis. Perhaps when we are more prosperous and there is stability in the markets again. Gibbs, in another press conference, acts like an unprofessional twit, bordering on mockery of Cramer and his credentials.
Cramer’s retort to Gibbs’ arrogance.
Now, the most disheartening and discouraging acts by the Administration are in regards to Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh, love him or hate him, is a radio personality and he is in fact an entertainer. This doesn’t take away from what he has to say, and I must admit, that I am in fact a fan of Rush – A ditto head if you will. He makes very valid points and arguments in a comprehensive and very clear manner. I was in fact in attendance at CPAC and saw Rush live in the main ballroom for the keynote speech. His words were neither ugly nor incendiary. On the contrary, they were dead-on, passionate, intelligent and honest. Now, there isn’t enough room or time to post the entire CPAC speech, however, here is the clip where he states he wants the POLICIES of Obama to fail, not the man. He wants the COUNTRY to succeed, and he, like me, believes that his policies, the way they are now, will be more destructive and detrimental to the U.S. than if he were to just change his mind and go against his ideology for once. The issue here is Obama is a power-hungry ideologue. Rather than do what is best for our country, he choose to do what is best for him and the advancement of democratic control.
However, now we have Rahm Emanuel making remarks as well as news organizations and the DNC starting a campaign against him. Are we not going through the largest economic meltdown this country has seen since the Great Depression or at least 1980? Why all the childish behavior by the democrats?
I have included some other little clips of Obama, himself, getting “torqued” by Hannity and those on the far right etc. – BOO HOO Obama!
Apparently, it is no longer trendy or ok to practice dissent in the “error” of Obama, less you be considered, a racist, a traitor or a right-wing nut job. But, before we do that, let’s just remind everyone of some of the priceless gems over the last 8 yrs. And please remind me of when Bush went on the offensive against anyone for these acts. .. The right to protest, speak out and communicate your like or dislike of the government and their actions are included in that wonderfully written 1st amendment.
