The Obama administration, namely the Department of Justice and race coward Eric Holder, announced the resettlement of 4 Uighur Gitmo detainees in Bermuda, obviously to teach them a lesson. The lesson of course being 40 spf is much safer than Banana Boat accelerator.

The government must be paying Bermuda a hefty fee to take the terrorists since I can’t even get a time share down there!

The Department of Justice today announced that four detainees, Chinese nationals of Uighur ethnicity who had been held at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, have been resettled in Bermuda. These detainees, who were subject to release as a result of court orders, had been cleared for release by the prior administration, which determined they would no longer treat them as enemy combatants. The detainees were again cleared for release this year after review by the interagency Guantanamo Review Task Force.

As directed by the President’s January 22, 2009, Executive Order, the interagency Guantanamo Review Task Force conducted a comprehensive review of the four, including a threat evaluation, and approved them for resettlement. The detainees left Guantanamo Bay today pursuant to an arrangement between the United States and the Government of Bermuda.

The Uighurs are a Turkic Muslim minority from the Xinjiang province of far-west China. The Uighurs currently at Guantanamo Bay left China and made their way to Afghanistan, where most eventually settled in a camp with other Uighurs opposed to the Chinese government. After the United States conducted aerial strikes in the area in October 2001, the Uighurs from that camp fled to Pakistan and were later apprehended. According to available information, these individuals did not travel to Afghanistan with the intent to take any hostile action against the United States.

This marks the first time since 2006 that the U.S. government has successfully resettled any of the Guantanamo Uighur population. In 2006, five Uighurs were transferred to Albania; there have been no reports of post-resettlement engagement in criminal behavior or terrorist activities.

The detainees were unable to comment – they we were found on the beach passed out after sipping mamosas.

But…but…but… I thought Bush was eeeeeevil and stuuuuuuuuuuupid?

What about CHANGE?

Obama will continue the military tibunal system for Gitmo detainees. This was a point of contention for Obama and part of the Bush administration that he brought up and campaigned against last year. However, Obama has flip-flopped (yet again) and will be resuming these activities.

President Obama is planning on Friday to resume the Bush administration’s controversial military commission system for some Guantanamo detainees — which he suspended in his first week in office — according to three administration officials.

Some of the high-profile terror suspects who are being charged in the military commission process include Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-confessed mastermind of the 9/11 attacks.

The administration officials stressed that the updated system will include expanded due-process rights for the suspects, which administration officials note is consistent with what Obama pushed for as a senator in 2006 in order to improve upon the widely criticized approach created by the Bush administration.

The move could increase tensions with liberal groups, led by the ACLU, which are already furious about Obama’s shift this week to block the release of photos showing prisoners allegedly being abused by U.S. personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU, called the expected new approach on military commissions “fatally flawed” despite the changes.

“The military commissions are built on unconstitutional premises and designed to ensure convictions, not provide fair trials,” Romero said in a prepared statement released earlier this week after speculation about the restart of military commissions surfaced. “Reducing some but not all of the flaws of the tribunals so that they are ‘less offensive’ is not acceptable; there is no such thing as ‘due process light.’ ”

Two of the administration officials said the president will also leave open the option of starting civilian trials on U.S. soil for some of the detainees. But that, too, is a fiercely debated issue on Capitol Hill because of concerns by lawmakers in both parties about where the terror suspects will be kept during such trials.

BWAHAHAHA!

The UK news is reporting that the photos Obama was supposedly protecting were somehow leaked to reporters in Australia. If this is the case, then surely there was never any attempt to be made to truly protect these photos or the national security of the United States. This grandstanding on the photos was a smoke screen to gain political capital after looking at the polling data that showed most Americans did not want the photos released, nor do they want these detainees in their backyards, etc. This gave Obama leeway to say it was not his doing or his fault for the leaks or the release. It will only be speculation that he had planned this to happen:

Photographs of the alleged abuse of prisoners in Iraq thought to be among those that Barack Obama is trying to prevent from being published have been released.

Pictures apparently showing Iraqi inmates being subjected to degrading treatment were disclosed the day after Mr Obama announced a legal bid to stop more than 2,000 images being seen.

It is alleged that the pictures, one of which shows a naked man hung upside down from a bunk bed, are among those that the president wanted suppressed.

Mr Obama fears a backlash against U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Further images purportedly from the 2,000 include one of a naked man covered in excrement with a guard standing in front of him.

Others yet to be released are alleged to show guards threatening to sexually assault a detainee with a broomstick and hooded prisoners in transport planes with copies of Playboy magazine showing naked women open on their laps.

The president had previously committed to allowing them to be seen but changed his mind after senior generals said it could place U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in greater danger.

The images were released in Australia yesterday where they were originally obtained by the television channel SBS in the wake of the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal.

If there was one thing you could always say about President Bush, it is that he always stood on his principles and values. He had an enormous amount of integrity and did not compromise any of those things for political expediency. He firmly believed every move and decision he made was based on what was best for the American people. He did not rely on polling data or popularity statistics. President Bush’s firmly held beliefs in a post 9/11 world are what guided him.

Now President Obama, on the other hand, stands on his teleprompter. As he has “navigated” his way through the first 100 days in the Oval Office, we have yet to really see the characteristics of integrity or doing what is right by the American People. At least two of his cabinet members should have been tossed; Turbo Tax Tim Geithner and Secretary Napolitano, both of whom have embarrassed the Oval Office and outraged the American people. If he really stood on principle and integrity they would have been gone.

President Obama showed signs of this early in the election cycle when he said he would accept public financing of the campaign, but when the primary season was over and he was the nominee, he opted out of the system and continued to collect just shy of 3/4 of a billion dollars, most of which is untraceable. That in itself goes against the Open Government Act by fully disclosing all donors.

President Bush walked his talk after the campaign. He worked with the Democratic leadership, showing bipartisanship on the budget, FISA, immigration and other issues. The only thing he would not compromise on (thank goodness) was a troop withdrawal time table. Democrats tried in vain to force his hand as the Obama backing MSM flooded the evening news night after night with each road side bomb image they could find. Very little attention was paid to the success we were having, only the carnage. This unwavering stance against a timed withdrawal was significant because he did not want give the emboldened insurgency a window in which to “wait it out”, and to prevent these politicians from micromanaging commanders in the field. True, there was pressures to change strategies in order to combat this issue, and the administration did just that; they initiated the “surge”. And guess what, it worked! Now Mr. Obama on the other hand has shown about as much bipartisanship as Iran has shown cooperation with the UN….Uh that would be none! The GOP has been completely shut out of the administration, being told to basically shut up and sit down because “we” (the Dems) won. So much for a new era of cooperation and open government.

What people fail to realize in Iraq, is that not only did we rid the world of a very evil dictator, who’s atrocities are well documented (so in fact there is you weapon of mass destruction), shut down Dr. Germ Rihab Taha (who was identified by UN weapon inspectors specifically), the mission also brought stability to the region as a whole.

If you look back, Moamar Kadafi quickly and quietly ended their rebellious ways and cracked down on terrorists in Libya. Syria also became much more user friendly, and cooperative. So there were broader positive effects.

Mr. Obama who was not a Senator when the Congress initially authorized action in Iraq, on the campaign trail he waved the “No More War” flag like the checker flag at the end of a car race. The election was soundly anti-Bush, and all the rhetoric that goes with that. ‘When he is elected president, we will be out of Iraq in 16 months at the most. There should be no confusion about that’.

Well as you all know, the mission (and I am not complaining about this) remains on target and is, in fact, in a winding down phase. We have consolidated much of our operations to specific areas in Iraq, handed over control and security operations to the Iraqi Army and Police force in many areas, continue to train and equip those forces so when we do leave, there will be stability and peace inside the borders. Mr. Obama’s rhetoric got him into the White House, but the reality of the situation on the ground in Iraq dictated his actions. And if the people who were so hell bent on completely ditching the quote “Bush Doctrine” (as Charlie Gibson tried to nail Sarah Palin with) they would have realized that this notion of up and run out of Iraq was not plausible in the least.

President Bush was thrust into a situation that day in September, unbeknown to America or our intelligence agencies. We went from a 20 plus year time of relative peace and suddenly thrust into war, against an enemy that does not belong to a nation or state, but operates in the shadows among innocent people whom they will sacrifice without any hesitation. Yes, mistakes were made. But this nation was kept safe, and still is, by those policies President Bush put into place.

Now we have a floppy fish in the White House. Yes he was thrust into an economic situation that has not been pretty. However, Mr. Teleprompter as not shown us anything except he is bent on a socialistic agenda and that he changes his word like we change underwear.

Now Mr. Obama wants to openly (yes there is that word open again) and without preconditions, have talks with these nations that simply hate the United States. Iran, who is pursuing nuclear weapons and calling for the destruction of Israel, North Korea, who has nuclear material but can not build a delivery vehicle, Venezuela, who just yesterday seized American Owned and Operated energy sites and equipment, and Cuba, where money can now flow freely without using a 3rd and 4th party intermediary. Oh yes lets not forget Mexico. Yet, another apology from Mr. Obama and Secretary Clinton for causing the drug war along the boarder.

Mr. Obama and his economic team have showered the coffers with billions and billions of dollars in order to prop up the economy. Thus far, nothing. New jobless filings hover around 600K and overall, 6.5 million people are out of work, and counting. Now that Chrysler and GM are making significant cuts, that is going to go up more this year. Not only does that effect line workers in the auto plants, but spills out to the suppliers and peripheral businesses that support them.

Mr. Obama, first week in office broke the most basic of his campaign pledges, saying that the practice of earmarks and pork spending would immediately come to and end. Say what? The first two things he signs into law are pork laden wasteful bills that did nothing. The Stimulus package, which failed to stimulate the American people, was shoved through the congress by the new Dem Majority in the middle of the night in which no one was even able to read. And what was in there (Mr. Dodd)? Bonuses for the executives at AIG, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac!!! Next he signed an Omnibus bill that contained over 9000 earmarks, again pushed through on a Dem freight train in the middle of the night.

Now the administration continues to politicize national security doctrine as the administration stammers on what our evil interrogators did to terror suspects. This emboldens the enemy, teaches them our techniques so now they can prepare for what little we actually do. The September 10th mentality of the administration puts us in jeopardy. Many of the policies that Mr. Obama so vehemently touted against remain in effect. The naval prison at Guantanamo Bay was ordered closed yet remains open as Obama plans where to send its inmates; the president has yet to establish a coherent policy on Iran — following in the Bush administration’s footsteps and while American troops are being removed from Iraq, most will stay in place until 2010.

It is important to note that all the enhanced interrogation tactics that we used actually yielded crucially important intelligence that helped keep this country safe,” with the eight years of safety on the home front since Sept. 11, 2001. Even though congressional leaders claimed to be left out of the loop on these techniques, it was revealed that the same Dem leaders, who bewitched President Bush, were duly informed of those methods. But as Dems, true to color, they pretended to take the moral high road, and were thus outed as hypocrites using this issue for political expediency.
Obama’s own Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, wrote an internal memo last week citing the “high value” information about Al Qaeda’s operations yielded by tactics such as water boarding, but its morality has been called into question by human rights monitors and many others both in and out of the Obama administration.

So therein lays the conflict with this administration. Integrity, direction, political expediency, governing by polling data, and letting Nancy Pelosi write its budget a mere 3 Trillion and some change.
So we as Americans have to wonder, where the transparency, openness, and new era of cooperation is. Yeah, that is right, so sorry, we lost.

The New York Times just like their uber-left counterparts care more about islamofascist terrorists than their own country and its citizens.

NYT also lied in an article last weekwhen describing the waterboarding of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. The NYT claimed that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times, which will become a typical liberal talking point when arguing about Gitmo detainees and interrogation methods. Khalid was only waterboarded a total of 5 times. Let me repeat that again, 5 times! Each of those times is timed specifically which was defined by law in order to meet specific conditions that would not be considered torture. There is also a physician on site when waterboarding is used.

The New York Times reported last week that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, was waterboarded 183 times in one month by CIA interrogators. The “183 times” was widely circulated by news outlets throughout the world.

It was shocking. And it was highly misleading. The number is a vast inflation, according to information from a U.S. official and the testimony of the terrorists themselves.

A U.S. official with knowledge of the interrogation program told FOX News that the much-cited figure represents the number of times water was poured onto Mohammed’s face — not the number of times the CIA applied the simulated-drowning technique on the terror suspect. According to a 2007 Red Cross report, he was subjected a total of “five sessions of ill-treatment.”

Our own soldiers have been trained and waterboarded more times than all the detainees combined. Only 3 of the detainees were ever waterboarded and 2 of those were major leaders in the radical Islam movement who had valuable information. That information was disclosed to us through waterboarding. If these detainees were only waterboarded 5-10 times total imagine how easy it would be for them to train for that now.

“The water was poured 183 times — there were 183 pours,” the official explained, adding that “each pour was a matter of seconds.”

The Times and dozens of other outlets wrote that the CIA also waterboarded senior Al Qaeda member Abu Zubaydah 83 times, but Zubayda himself, a close associate of Usama bin Laden, told the Red Cross he was waterboarded no more than 10 times.

And again that would be 83 pours of water… entirely different than being waterboarded 83 times. Each sessions consists of short and long pours of water and the specific time allotted per session was all laid out.

The Justice Department memos described the maximum allowed use of the waterboard on any detainee, based on tactical training given to U.S. troops to resist interrogations:

– Five days of use in one month, with no more than two “sessions” in a day;
– Up to six applications (something like a dunk) lasting more than 10 seconds but less than 40 seconds per session;
– 12 minutes of total “water application” in a 24-hour period

These lying Democrats have now put our country at incredible risk and have given our enemies plenty of ammo and ability to train and be more difficult to glean information from. As an FYI to the peaceniks – people are evil, they are not all good in this world and there is nothing you can do to change that or control that even if you can’t understand that. Sharing tea and crumpets with them will not resolve anything, nor will it keep your country safe.

Real American…./Sarc! Hey NYT – did your article happen to mention that Khalid is the one who chopped off Daniel Pearl’s head? I guess that’s acceptible to the likes of NYT… and the hypocrites on the far left.

The Obama administration is preparing to admit into the United States as many as seven Chinese Muslims who have been imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay in the first release of any of the detainees into this country, according to current and former U.S. officials.

I have put classifieds into all the local papers: Wanted: Caring Families Needed to House Unfortunate Terrorists From Gitmo: 1-800-I-VOTED-4-OBAMA

Their release is seen as a crucial step to plans, announced by President Obama during his first week in office, to close the prison and relocate the detainees. Administration officials also believe that settling some of them in American communities will set an example, helping to persuade other nations to accept Guantanamo detainees too.

Any detainees released into the country will most likely vote Democrat in the next elections, especially after receiving welfare payments from taxpayers. I’m sure they will pose no threat to the country since there was probably no reason whatsoever they were detained at Gitmo in the first place/sarc.

But the decision to release the Chinese Muslims, known as Uighurs, is not final and faces challenges from within the government, as well as likely public opposition. Among government agencies, the Homeland Security Department has registered concerns about the plan.

The move would also incense Chinese officials, who consider the Uighurs domestic terrorists and want those held at Guantanamo handed over for investigation. U.S. officials no longer consider the Chinese Muslims to be enemy combatants and fear they would be mistreated in China.

The Chinese will not let them back into the country and if they do re-enter they will prosecute the Uighurs as domestic terrorists, but the United States doesn’t get the hint and is admitting them into the country.

There are 17 Uighurs (pronounced WEE-gers) at Guantanamo. A U.S. official familiar with the discussions over their release said that as many as seven could be resettled in the U.S., possibly in two or more small groups.
Officials have not said where in the United States they might live. But many Uighur immigrants from China live in Washington’s Virginia suburbs, and advocates have urged that the detainees be resettled near people who speak their language and are familiar with their customs.

I hope all my under 30 friends who voted for Obama are amenable to the fact that they could be their next-door neighbors in Northern Virginia. The suburbs of Northern Virginia went blue and many in the area are having second thoughts about their vote. I say too bad – you reap what you sow.

The Uighurs were sent to Guantanamo in 2002 after being captured in Pakistan. Before that, they had gravitated to Afghanistan, where they received firearms training at a camp apparently run by a Uighur separatist.

Some former U.S. officials have said government information indicates that the Uighurs may pose a danger if released. But other officials and human rights organizations insist they pose no threat to Americans.

These men were trained and caught in camps that promote jihad. These men are not threats to our society and the citizens of America? Human Rights groups or U.S. Intel officials – which one would you be willing to listen to and believe when discussing the possible threats posed.

“It is kind of hard to tell other countries you would like them to accept some of these guys from Guantanamo if you are not willing to accept them,” said the U.S. official, who described the internal discussions on condition of anonymity.

So through the act of appeasement we need to set an example to change the minds of other countries. It’s like the old saying: “If someone told you to jump off a bridge, would you?” The whole idea of making a decision that could possibly put the citizens of the United States at risk, due to the fact that there is more concern over the lives of terrorists than the lives of U.S. citizens, just reeks of idiocy and insanity! Why would any country accept terrorists just because the U.S. does. Is that not a little arrogant and presumptuous on our part? If I were any other country I would look at the U.S. and say, “Good for you… but I’m not taking that chance and putting the lives of my countrymen at stake.”

The acceptance of these terrorists are also hurting foreign relations with China. Appeasement does more harm for relations than anything else. The more you try to please everyone, the more you upset and hurt everyone. Evidence of this is as simple as looking at your own personal life. Did you ever try to please all your friends when you were younger? I was in a group of friends and one of my girlfriends was an appeaser. She would say one thing to one person and promise the opposite to another. When word got back that she was two faced and pinning others against one another, she was the one who got in trouble, not the group. If you don’t stand for anything you will fall for everything.

The release is a slap in the face to Beijing, which has requested that the Uighur prisoners be repatriated to China to stand trial for separatist activities. In their testimony before the Guantanamo tribunal, the Uighurs admitted that their purpose in going to Afghanistan was to receive military training to fight Chinese rule over Xinjiang.

“If these people are terrorists, they should be punished. If they are not terrorists, the United States should apologize to China for holding them so long and make compensation,” said Zhang Jiadong, an expert in terrorism at Fudan University’s Center for American Studies. Zhang said, however, that he did not expect the Chinese government to retaliate because it was already widely anticipated in Beijing that the United States would not return the Uighurs to China.

Within the prison, Uighurs are not considered a grave threat and are allowed greater freedom, such as television privileges, than other detainees.

But the TV privileges underscored potential difficulties to come, according to one current and one former U.S. official. Not long after being granted access to TV, some of the Uighurs were watching a soccer game. When a woman with bare arms was shown on the screen, one of the group grabbed the television and threw it to the ground, according to the officials.

They aren’t a grave threat, but when they see a woman with bare arms they throw a television screen – I’m sure that will go over real well in Northern Virginia. “Beware of Tank Tops!”

The Uighurs are not as dangerous as other detainees or terrorist groups, but they still do pose possible threats and problems to our society. There are other societies that are more accepting of these individuals, but I fear that not only will there be problems for the Uighurs assimilating into American culture, but vice versa for Americans encountering the Uighurs if they are released. Knowing already that they were against the Chinese government and aligned themselves with aspects of radical Islam, there is good reason to believe that they may come to dislike or despise the culture in the states after a matter of time. Based on their behavior in Gitmo with the television incident, they may not like seeing women with equal rights to men, wearing revealing clothing, showing their hair, seeing homosexual couples in public, the practicing of various religions, etc.

Nancy Pelosi is one of the most contemptible personalities in existence today. She must be one of the most immoral characters as well. She is now lying about the harsh interrogation methods used on terrorists and detainees in Gitmo.

She was briefed along with several other colleagues back in 2002 after the 9/11 attacks and after a legal team and the CIA put together techniques that could be used but would not be considered torture under international treaties/law. One of those techniques is called waterboarding; something Nancy Pelosi says she didn’t know about, or at least did not know that the technique would actually be used on a detainee.

I already posted on the fact that Pelosi was made privy to all of this information back in 2002 and was even shown waterboarding. Those who attended the meeting even asked whether or not these techniques would be harsh enough. She now has the audacity to sit there and lie to the public about what she knew. She has the gall to lie to us and treat the public like morons by stating she did not realize those techniques would actually be used on the detainees! Are you kidding me Nancy?

Pelosi says she was briefed by Bush administration officials on the legal justification for using waterboarding — but that they never followed through on promises to inform her when they actually began using “enhanced” interrogation techniques

“In that or any other briefing…we were not, and I repeat, were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation techniques were used. What they did tell us is that they had some legislative counsel … opinions that they could be used,” she told reporters today.

Earlier, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) criticized Pelosi and other Democratic leaders for backing probes into the use of waterboarding — after reportedly failing to raise objections during a briefing on its potential use in 2002.

“Well, yesterday I saw a partial list of the number of members of the House and Senate, Democrats and Republicans, who were briefed on these interrogation methods and not a word was raised at the time, not one word,” Boehner told reporters at his weekly news availability.

“And I think you’re going to hear more and more about the bigger picture here, that what — the war on terror after 9/11 was done in a bipartisan basis on lots of fronts. And that bigger story will be coming out,” he added.

Pelosi says members who receive classified intelligence briefings are powerless to act on them — or even discuss them with staff — due to confidentiality requirements.

As a consequence, some members simply skip classified briefings to avoid being “hamstrung” by requirements they keep silent on the topics discussed.

So Nancy, just how stupid do you think we are? Or put another way, just how stupid do we now believe you are?

In the immediate post-9/11 atmosphere, did you really think the Intelligence community was only going to just “talk” about using enhanced interrogation techniques on captured high-level personnel? Nancy, are you really that stupid as to believe that? You believe the Intel types went to all the trouble of researching the techniques, getting legal opinions that ok’d their use…and then what? Let these masterminds of terror sit there in their cells getting three squares a day on our dime?

Nancy, if you really are that stupid and dim-witted, then you have no business whatsoever being in a governing, leadership position (You could still be in the government with those qualifications but definitely not Speaker of the House). You should resign immediately. If you’re not that dim-witted, then you are an obvious liar that holds the average citizen’s intelligence in contempt. Again, you should resign immediately. Either way, Nancy, your response to this issue has tested you and found you completely lacking in integrity, honesty, and leadership. You don’t belong in DC, please leave and DLTDHYOTAOTWO.

On another note, Obama has stated that he may release detainee “abuse” photos. Obama continues to kowtow to his far left fringe base who want this prosecution persecution to go forward. He has started to politicize this monstrosity along with his Attorney General, Holder, the same guy who helped enable the 9/11 attacks in the first place. This entire charade will most likely come back to haunt Obama and bite him on the ass in the long run.

Holder, much like Obama, is playing the “I don’t know” card by stating that he hasn’t seen or read the memos and doesn’t know about the sections Cheney discusses, which provided us invaluable information about future attacks on our soil. This is becoming a political show trial just like O’Reilly has said. I find it amusing that Obama and Holder both say they don’t know. It’s like Bill Clinton asking what the definition of “is,” is. What’s worse, releasing documents that were once classified and saying you didn’t read them or lying about it all and not giving the public the opportunity to judge for itself – is that not what public officials are supposed to do? Are they not working on behalf of us, and do we not have the freedoms to request that information? The memos had big blacked-out sections, which were the ones that Cheney is talking about. If nobody read them or knew about them, why were they blacked out?

This is turning into the McCarthy trials and I’m sure all those baseball players brought to trial by the witchhunters, Biden and Waxman, understand that democrats are not advocates of freedom if you don’t tow their line.

In a letter from the Justice Department to a federal judge yesterday, the Obama administration announced that the Pentagon would turn over to the American Civil Liberties Union 44 photographs showing detainee abuse of prisoners in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush administration.

The photographs are part of a 2003 Freedom of Information Act request by the ACLU for all information relating to the treatment of detainees — the same battle that led, last week, to President Obama’s decision to release memos from the Bush Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel providing legal justifications for harsh interrogation methods that human rights groups call torture.

The ACLU is the antithesis of American. They hate freedom and they hate Americans, especially those of us who hold traditional convictions and conservative values dear. The ACLU only cares about those who are terrorists, hate groups, fringe liberals etc. Heaven forbid you are ever a conservative Christian whose rights have been trampled on, you will not hear a peep from the ACLU. Why is Obama playing into the hands of this radical left law group? This shows such incredible strength and shows us a man who truly loves his country…sarc.

Courts had ruled against the Bush administration’s attempts to keep the photographs from public view. ACLU attorney Amrit Singh tells ABC News that “the fact that the Obama administration opted not to seek further review is a sign that it is committed to more transparency.”

Most of the judges are now radical left activist judges so I take their decisions with a grain of salt. I would like to know a little more about the ideologies and histories of these judges first. And how does this show more transparency? Obama cannot put out releases of what is actually in his spending plans or allow press into some meetings, but because he is willing to single-handedly open up the U.S. to another terrorist attack and destroy our national security – this becomes transparent? Excuse me while I grab the vomit bucket.

Singh added that the photographs “only underscore the need for a criminal investigation and prosecution if warranted” of U.S. officials responsible for the harsh treatment of detainees.

Those poor detainees, the ones who killed over 3,000 Americans and planned on killing more. I could care less if they were treated harsh or not. They don’t fall under the Geneva Convention and this point has not been argued enough. The new administration wants to interrogate terrorists by giving them tea and crumpets hoping that will be disturbing enough to provide imperative Intel for future attacks.

But some experts say the move could have a chilling effect on the CIA even beyond President Obama’s decision last week to release the so-called “torture memos.”

Calling the ACLU push to release the photographs “prurient” and “reprehensible,” Dr. Mark M. Lowenthal, former Assistant Director of Central Intelligence for Analysis and Production, tells ABC News that the Obama administration should have taken the case all the way to the Supreme Court.

Why would Obama take it to the Supreme Court when he can kowtow to a less-than-formidable opponent; the ACLU?

“They should have fought it all the way; if they lost, they lost,” Lowenthal said. “There’s nothing to be gained from it. There’s no substantive reason why those photos have to be released.”

Lowenthal said the president’s moves in the last week have left many in the CIA dispirited, based on “the undercurrent I’ve been getting from colleagues still in the building, or colleagues who have left not that long ago.”

“We ask these people to do extremely dangerous things, things they’ve been ordered to do by legal authorities, with the understanding that they will get top cover if something goes wrong,” Lowenthal says. “They don’t believe they have that cover anymore.” Releasing the photographs “will make it much worse,” he said.

Make no bones about it – don’t think the CIA will come in and save our butts after this move or anyone from the NSA, NRO or FBI. This spells disaster for us and out of fear of being prosecuted for protecting U.S. citizens these agencies will put their hands up and say they will not risk being tried or jailed for just doing their job and doing what is right in these hostile times.

Even though President Obama has announced that the Justice Department will not prosecute CIA officers who were operating within the four corners of what they’d been told was the law, Lowenthal says members of the CIA are worried. “They feel exposed already, and this is going to increase drumbeat for an investigation or a commission” to explore detainee treatment during the Bush years, he said. “It’s going to make it much harder to resist, and they fear they’re then going to be thrown over.”

I’m sorry, but I can’t take much more of this! This is a complete nightmare and I can’t believe there are still enough brain-dead people out there who just don’t get it!

Speaking of brain-dead sissies let’s take a look at the United Nations who is calling for this prosecution as well as the release of the photos. The U.N. is freedom-loving group and has been able to accomplish so much and keep so many safe…riiiiiiiight!

Newsflash for the next president: Get out of any and all U.N. treaties; all it does is allow us to be vulnerable and not conduct what is necessary to keep ourselves safe and attempt to protect the rest of the world.

The ACLU had planned on making these photos public after they obtained copies. They expected to receive these photos no later than May 28th, 2009, but the media has reported that earlier today Obama stated that these documents would be made public today… this story changes every day so we shall see… Goodbye safety, hello terrorism!

European justice ministers met with Mr. Holder earlier this week and pressed for details on how many Guantanamo prisoners the U.S. planned to release domestically, as part of any agreement for allies to accept detainees. Mr. Holder said U.S. officials would work to respond to the questions European officials have over U.S. Guantanamo plans.

For “people who can be released there are a variety of options that we have and among them is the possibility is that we would release them into this country,” Mr. Holder said. “That process is ongoing and we’ve not made any determinations or made any requests of anybody at this point.”

Among the detainees whose fate remains undetermined are 17 ethnic Uighurs, from the Central Asian region of China, who have been ordered released by a judge. The U.S. has refused to turn the men over to China, which considers them part of an separatist group.

02/03/09

With the swearing in of Eric Holder today as the Attorney General, the safety of America is in jeopardy. At the top of his agenda, according to the AP, is to decide “which Bush administration counterterrorism policies to reverse.” In addition, he will also “play a major role in the future of terrorism detainees.” He is creating a special panel that will report back to the President in 180 days on options for apprehension, detention, trial, transfer or release of detainees. You can bet that Holder will also be looking to overturn the warrantless surveillance program.

So, it doesn’t take a Harvard degree or thousands of dollars in tax evasion to figure out that this administration is seriously putting us at risk. The President doesn’t care about us like a father cares for his children. Oh wait, maybe he does. His father deserted him and now he is deserting us.

Go buy your guns now before only your neighborhood terrorists have guns.
