Well, surprise, surprise/sarc… 6 out of the 8 members of the GOP turncoats came from the only states which are likely to see benefits from Cap and Trade (CA, WA, NY, NJ). I’m not surprised about Mark Kirk due to the contributions he received from Exelon Corp. (34.1K), who came out in support of cap and trade legislation and who have been a part of the Chicago political machine themselves. Heck, Exelon was even a bailout candidate!

Mike Castle is a little more head scratching. Delaware does not appear to make money off of this bill, granted they lose far less than other states. The only correlation that I can see is similar to Mike Kirk’s. There is possibly a Delaware business/entity which has ties with Joe Biden and will fare well due to this massive tax hike. The other explanation is where Mike Castle sits on the financial services committee and Wall Street (many of his donors) will make tons from this legislation.

Interesting to note, as well, is that red states will suffer the most. Pay back time? If red states lose money and constituents have nothing in their pockets there is a chance that our drug dealing government can swoop in and tempt you with their entitlement dope and try to get you hooked… More and more is starting to look less like a conspiracy.

Please disregard this post – Meg Stapleton has made a statement in regards to Sarah’s Defense Fund and the site that they tried to initial set up would not suffice a court of law. There is a lot of red tape involved and so we would have to wait for the official Fund to be established:

The continuing generosity of Alaskans and Americans is overwhelming as many reach out to assist Governor Sarah Palin and her family with their legal bills.

However, the official legal defense fund for Governor Sarah Palin has not been formed and the Governor cannot accept monies for those obligations from any other entity than the one in formation. Numerous federal and state laws need to be abided by and the official legal defense fund will have very strict donation guidelines.

We thank everyone interested in helping the Governor. The best way to assist her will be through this official fund which will launch later this month.”

Sorry to post this information in haste – I thought it was great news. I have now contributed to the other organization – I hope it helps them out in some way!

Her official fund will most likely be www.sarahpalinsdefensefund.com

Reported through sites like RedState and the Sarah Palin Blog:

A defense fund to help Sarah Palin pay her mounting legal bills is now up on the web and operational…

According to the organizer, the defense money raised will go directly to Thomas Van Flein, Governor Palin’s private attorney.

The fund is managed by Clayton Paslay, also the organizer of FreeAmericanCitizens.org, a non-affiliated PAC.

This is not the official Defense Fund for Sarah as far as being the direct PAC/Fund that will go to her, but her private attorney has okay-ed this fund raising organization in the meantime, due to the fact that the official one is still in the planning stages, but it’s imperative that something is up and running and getting started now.

To donate go here:

I’ve already made my contribution!

Perhaps seeking to regain some luster to his presidency, Barack Obama has jumped into the political fray and endorsed Scott Murphy for Congress in NY 20th district.

In an email sent to around 50,000 supporters in the district, the president urged people to organize for the democratic candidate who is running against Republican Jim Tedesco with the winner to take over the seat vacated when Kirsten Gillibrand was elevated to the senate:

Today I’m announcing my support for Scott Murphy, candidate for New York’s 20th Congressional District,” the email reads. “He’s created jobs by building and growing small businesses while bringing people together to address difficult challenges. He supports the economic recovery plan we’ve put in place, and I know we can count on him as an ally for change.

“To restore our economy and build a foundation for lasting prosperity, I’ll need Scott’s help. This week, Scott needs yours. Sign up and pitch in to elect Scott Murphy to Congress.

Polls show a very tight race so this should be very interesting. RNC Chairman Michael Steele is throwing money and expertise into the race while national Republicans of every stripe have come out in support of the GOP candidate.

Now with Obama throwing the weight of his presidency behind Murphy, a defeat would cause great damage. This would lead me to believe that the White House’s internal numbers on the race are pretty favorable to Murphy although in a special election, turnout is the big question mark.

Will Obamabots get out of their houses and vote for Murphy next Tuesday? If not, he and his surrogates will spend the next few days answering questions about why he entered the race in the first place and does a loss indicate a growing uneasiness with his policies.

Vote a conservative into that district of New York – Jim Tedisco! Donate here.
