Deficit neutral.

We’re considering health care reform at this point based upon the notion that the new Blue Dog idea being bantered about in Congress is “deficit neutral.”

I wonder how we became so frugal suddenly – just a few short months after passing an alleged stimulus plan, which carried a price tag almost 13 times the size of the national deficit prior to the last presidential election.

So, at present, we have spent almost 10 percent of that – at a little over two trillion, dollars. We are about 1 trillion, 60 billion in the hole. So why should we be worried about these “leaders” we have, tinkering with universal health care? After all, the stated price tag only adds a mere trillion or two more to our country’s balance sheet. We are already so deep in the hole, we can’t pay it back and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

In fact, at present, the national debt, if spread amongst every citizen in the U.S., is exactly $37,883. The money spent by this government on its’ citizens – with it’s huge pool of tax money – is allegedly now $7,402. I’m not sure where that money is. I haven’t seen some of my neighbors much lately, perhaps they sent them all to Disney World?

But then again, maybe not. Maybe they’re all holed-up in their house, eating MRE’s behind makeshift barricades, sitting on their ammo cans, waiting for the ACORN/census people to come-a-knockin.

Today, so close to the August break for our hard-working, and so underpaid Congressmen, lawmakers are frantically trying to come to some kind of agreement which would allow them to pass a type of health care reform bill before they all go on vacation. It’s amazing.

A huge and growing number of people are against the proposed take-over of the health care system by the U.S. government. But to these lawmakers trying to rush something through, the voices of the regular people don’t matter. They’re worried about getting back to their mansions and sailboats. Their minds are on golf games and tending their investments in clean energy companies. They will not be taking part in the new Health Care plan. They and their families will have a much better system – no long lines to get inside crowded clinics – no tired, soul-crushed bureaucrats, waiting with piles of forms for them to fill out, sitting there behind some smudged, antiseptic soaked window-frame, staring blankly out at the unchanging mass of sick and injured and dying.

Nope. Those Congressmen won’t have to get any of that. That’s all being reserved for you and I. And for the most part, these people don’t care a whit about you or I, or who dies in those waiting lines – or at home, alone.

Consider that despite all the yelling and moaning, the national debt numbers continue to tick over. They are spending their way through billions every minute while we sit and worry about a mere couple trillion more. Don’t believe me? Look at the U.S. National Debt clock at

www.usdebtclock.org.

And now that you’ve seen what these lawmakers have done – and continue to do to us, let’s try a fun little exercise. I call it: Being Mr. Fat Cat.

Come on, sit back and think about smoking that cigar and drinking that scotch they want to take away from you, because they are so concerned about your health. Sit way back in that easy chair and try to imagine yourself as a pampered, grinning Congressman. Your daily affairs are no more than a game to you – who’s trying to cut down who, what the latest rumors are, what’s for lunch – what posh club or spa you’re visiting later in the day – the amazing color of the shirt being worn by that lithe intern – what’s her name?

Yeah, it really is that lame. It’s like they’re all in high school. The only difference is that we’re stuck with their idiot decisions. We are literally paying the bills for the people we thought were assholes when we were in high school. Stunning, isn’t it?

Here’s a prediction. I’ve just decided to stop playing “Mr. Fat Cat,” and instead have switched to my “Dave as Nostradamus” persona. So predictions…

1. Despite all the hand-wringing, the Congress will either stuff something through in the last wee hours – or more likely, they will wait until September because that may give the whole issue a month to cool off. By that time, they likely believe there will be less people following the despicable activity by our country’s leaders. You see, they believe our attention span will wane. We are, after all, just a bunch of dumb peasants to these characters.
2. Our new health care plan will work about as well as the bail-out program did – virtually nothing positive will happen, and in fact things will continue to collapse. Government-run health care will simply destroy the current insurance business and eliminate more jobs. As more companies collapse, the fat cats will simply play more golf – because without private companies as competition, the government basically owns and controls everything.

We’re in trouble. We’re about to be destroyed. We’re about to be destroyed by people under the banner of “helping all the poor amongst us.” They care, you see. Mr. Fat Cat (And Mrs. – or miss or Ms. – or Madame Senator – or whatever the going political correctness says it is) feels deeply for all those millions who can’t get health care. The fat cats are always “working closely” with someone or another. That’s because they really feel for us. They care so much, they are reading every page of every bill. They’re in their offices, hard at work taking calls from their concerned constituents. They are being responsible. That’s why they’re so concerned with making the new nationalized health care bill “deficit neutral.”

Remember that term when you look at the

U.S. Debt Clock – “deficit neutral.”

Really.

Have we found angels in the form of kings to govern us? Or is Big Brother alive and well in America?

The release of the mid-year budget review from the White House has been delayed. It really comes as no surprise anymore that the Obama team meant “transparency for thee but not for me.”

As a democrat, it’s ok to harp about Republicans, scream, and whine when you feel as though they aren’t being transparent enough. Then campaign on empty slogans of hope and change, but once in office do nothing of the sort. As they say to the victor goes the spoils and in this scenario, the spoils include hypocrisy and a lack of information disseminated to the American public.

The White House said Monday it was delaying the release of the annual midsummer US budget update, but refuted suggestions it was trying to put distance between its own optimistic predictions and the sour state of today’s economy.

“Because of the unique circumstances of a transition year, we are — like President George W. Bush in 2001 — releasing the Mid-Session Review a few weeks later than as is usual in non-transition years,” said Kenneth Baer, communications director for the White House’s Office of Management and Budget.

When all else fails, as this administration has demonstrated, play the victim and take no responsibility for your actions. The greatest leadership characteristic is finger pointing…/sarc.

Funny, I thought that Obama was going to stop using old Bush policies and was going to create “change we could believe in?” Seems like those old Bush policies are convenient when he needs to get away with something, such as bad budget numbers/forecasts from his office.

The White House has run so far over budget in only the first half of the year, that they would prefer this report was covered up and never released.

The report is traditionally published in mid-July. This year’s version is expected to include massive deficit projections as the administration of President Barack Obama stewards a costly overhaul of the US healthcare system.

The CBO is projecting a $1.9T budget deficit, but that’s not exactly accurate. The accurate approximation is a $4T deficit – which is unprecedented in this nation’s history.

Yesterday was good news for those believing in freedom, small government, and democracy. The Senate does not plan on voting for Cap and Tax until September. This delay will certainly give us more time to change minds, write letters, send emails, and melt the phones of our representatives. We must continue to do so, even whilst they are away for the month of August. The beginning of the next session begins immediately after Labor Day in which the Senate plans on voting/passing an immigration reform bill. September will be a very busy month for those of us fighting for our country. Hopefully the impact of the 9/12 tea party protest will be felt far and wide. I also hope that we do a little more – Since Congress begins the new session after Labor Day, which is the week of the massive 9/12 March on DC, why not take the week off as vacation time and engage in a sit-in on the steps of Capitol Hill as our Congress-critters come back to work for the first day after their summer vacation!? It’s time to make them realize who they work for; a good government is one that fears its people.

Tell your congressman/woman that the EPA admits Cap and Tax will not work.

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee began their hearings on the 1,500 page Waxman-Markey cap and trade legislation Tuesday, and ranking member Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) won a startling admission from Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson. Inhofe produced an EPA chart generated last year during the Senate’s debate of the Lieberman-Warner cap and trade legislation. The chart showed that the carbon reductions under that bill would not materially effect global carbon concentrations in the atmosphere. Inhofe then asked Jackson if she agreed with the chart’s conclusions. Jackson replied: “I believe that essential parts of the chart are that the U.S. action alone will not impact CO2 levels.”

Also at the hearing, Energy Secretary Steven Chu said he did not agree with chart which is interesting since all the best science confirms Inhofe’s and Jackson’s conclusions. For example, a recent study of cap and trade by MIT concluded: “The different U.S. policies have relatively small effects on the CO2 concentration if other regions do not follow the U.S. lead. … The Developed Only scenario cuts only about 0.5 °C of the warming from the reference, again illustrating the importance of developing country participation.”

Michelle Malkin and Nate Silver put some great information together regarding the “softies” on cap and tax in the Senate. There is a chance to change several Democrat’s minds, especially those living in energy and coal producing states. (Don’t forget the liberal repubbies either)!

There is also some new and interesting data coming from those reading through the bill now that it has been posted. One of those interesting tidbits is the amount of money going to ACORN in a CLIMATE CHANGE bill:

“The American people will see tax dollars go to so-called community development organizations like ACORN, to teach low-income residents how to live in accord with the worldview of the Environmental Left,” scowled a news release yesterday from Congressional critics of the Cap and Trade bill.

Sure enough, there are 19 mentions of the term “community development” in the bill, but nothing specific about ACORN.

Sec. 264 of the bill is on “Low Income Community Energy Efficiency Program,” which says the feds will dole out grant money to community development organizations “to provide financing to businesses and projects that improve energy efficiency” for low-income residents.

On page 561, the bill authorizes $50 million per year for six fiscal years, so that’s $300 million in all for these kind of programs.

“I just want to know if ACORN would qualify for these grants,” said House GOP Leader John Boehner, who was the only Republican to note the ACORN issue during debate on the House floor.

If you really want to make your blood boil and find the additional goodies that were hidden in the bill go here.

The latest bill set to pass through congress, the health care bill, is stacked with pork products, and not the type you eat at baseball games.

Congress is trying to stuff the bill full of projects that have absolutely nothing to do with health care. I will provide some examples:

1. Walking Paths: walking paths drastically increase health because it is almost impossible to walk and exercise on streets, grass, gyms, your home, or school race tracks.

2. Streetlights: Although not directly associated with vitamin D – it could serve as a great replacement for the sun some time in the future… or wait…

3. Jungle Gyms: I am hoping that those who need health care the most, i.e. senior citizens, get some new ’sneaks’ and hit the playground. I’m sure their hips and joints will love climbing up and down. Is it just me or aren’t jungle gyms and things related to parks and recreation considered city works? – eh… who am I kidding – it’s not like Congress follows the rules; the Constitution.

4. Farmer’s Markets: After cap and tax and the new Food bill on the table – why worry about additional Farmer’s markets? Our grocery stores will become just that… Plus, given the economic downturn I may just be forced to grow my own food or steal some from Michelle Obama’s garden!

I am hoping that those of you reading this are beginning to see the insanity if you haven’t already. This is unbelievable, and the sad part; most Democrats think it all makes sense:

Advocates, including Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, defend the proposed spending as a necessary way to promote healthier lives and, in the long run, cut medical costs. “These are not public works grants; they are community transformation grants,’’ said Anthony Coley, a spokesman for Kennedy, chairman of the Senate health committee whose healthcare bill includes the projects.

Let’s compare public works to community transformation, because the way in which politicians mask the truth is through words and labels: Community = Society at large; a commonwealth or state; a body politic; the public, or people in general. Transformation = to perform a specified action or activity; work; operate

“If improving the lighting in a playground or clearing a walking path or a bike path or restoring a park are determined as needed by a community to create more opportunities for physical activity, we should not prohibit this from happening,’’ Coley said in a statement.

Teddy’s idea of exercise comes in the form of running from a murder scene…

But wait! That’s not all… A recent report came out that proved what many of us already knew:

Counties that supported Obama last year have reaped twice as much money per person from the administration’s $787 billion economic stimulus package as those that voted for his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, a USA TODAY analysis of government disclosure and accounting records shows. That money includes aid to repair military bases, improve public housing and help students pay for college.

$17 Billion in aid has gone to Obama backers from his stimulus bill. This is a captain obvious moment, but it should be disconcerting that when the country’s future is at stake, the good of the citizens takes a backseat to the pay-to-play political games of politicians – including Mr. Hope and Change himself.

What a surprise! Bank of America, now owned mostly by taxpayers will be accepting California’s IOUs.

California, one of the most solvent states is of course good for their debts/sarc.

This really should have been expected – a state-run bank accepting an insolvent, soon-to-be-bailed-out-state. Seems like monopoly money to me! This is similar to a false economy, where government interference and regulation make free markets anything but FREE/REAL.

Ponzi scheme has become my favorite catch phrase. It effectively seems as though California is issuing it’s own fake currency called IOUs, although it is already insolvent, to pay back at a later date – of which, will never happen. Bank of America is already suffering and got into trouble the last time it bought a toxic company and toxic assets, as did many others – but here it is doing the same thing again. Insanity = Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Bank of America Corp. says it will accept warrants issued by California’s state government through July 10.

BofA says the state’s budget crisis prompted its decision.

“To support our customers, while giving the state legislature additional time to pass a budget, we will accept California state-registered warrants — or IOUs — from existing customers and clients,” Charlotte-based BofA (NYSE:BAC) says in a written statement.

It is always important to ask “Why” in these very odd and overwhelming times.

Why would Bank of America, who is already in financial trouble and dire straights, accept California IOUs, which it will probably never see? Why does this seem incredibly like the forced situation of Merrill Lynch? Is Bank of America doing this as a favor to the US government? Should I assume that Bank of America will get more bailout dollars if it accepts such a risky investment?

My biggest “beef” with this scenario: who is supporting Bank of America? The government! And where does the government get its money? The taxpayers! It’s not ok by me, that my money is being used to help bailout California due to its liberal/progressive policies that it enacted on the state.

“It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder.” ~ Frédéric Bastiat 1801-1850 “The Law”

Listening to CSPAN on my way into work this morning, I had to push my eyes back into place, because the lack of common sense from Americans who took this poll disturbed me.

The head of the polling institute at Quinnipiac was explaining the results this morning and taking questions at the National Press Club. He discussed that nearly 69% wanted a government health care system competing with private health care. However, 26% opposed a government-run program. Therefore, it seems to me that people don’t understand that the government, when it competes with anything, wins. My jaw dropped in that instant. How can you be skeptical of a government run (universal) program, but want the government to compete with private industry?

On top of the 26% who agreed with a universal program (no private industry) only 53% said they would want to use a government option should one exist. Many want to keep their own private insurance! Yet again, there is no logic in how people are answering this poll. I am utterly dumb-founded! 85% of those who responded and already had private insurance, said they were satisfied with what they already had…

There was also a lot of confusion regarding the responses to pay for health care. Many were willing to have the rich and corporations pay more for their health care and only 49% said they would be willing to pay more for insurance to cover costs for others. 72% of those who said they would pay a little more, would only pay up to $500 more. That’s about the cost of a slice of pizza/week – how will that pay for a program that will cost upwards of over $1 trillion? The answer: It Won’t!

The breakout of demographics who wanted government health care and who would pay more comes as no surprise. Democrats overwhelmingly would pay more, but as discussed above were only willing to pay out of their own pocket; up to $500 extra, but were more than willing to have others cover for them. Over 70% of blacks want a government-run health care program, approx. 53% of Hispanics want one and White voters were against the program. Young individuals, 18-34, were also more willing to pay higher taxes for a govt. run program… I know that most in this age bracket, especially until they begin having families, do not realize the true consequences of high taxes or government control.

This poll also looked at 3 classes of voters; Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. Republicans and Democrats left no surprises. Independents did show that depending on how health care goes, Obama could lose a lot of his independent support, which helped him over that 50% hurdle last election.

63% of Americans disagree with taxing health care benefits, which the White House is considering. Health care benefits do not get taxed currently.

I would have enjoyed seeing a little more information as to the respondents of this poll. I would especially like to see the tax brackets that each respondent falls into and the range of taxes they pay annually, for example. I find that these polls leave out important variables that could really put the entire sentiment of the country into a better perspective.

I’m still waiting to get polled… tick tock.

Well, surprise, surprise/sarc… 6 out of the 8 members of the GOP turncoats came from the only states which are likely to see benefits from Cap and Trade (CA, WA, NY, NJ). I’m not surprised about Mark Kirk due to the contributions he received from Exelon Corp. (34.1K), who came out in support of cap and trade legislation and who have been a part of the Chicago political machine themselves. Heck, Exelon was even a bailout candidate!

Mike Castle is a little more head scratching. Delaware does not appear to make money off of this bill, granted they lose far less than other states. The only correlation that I can see is similar to Mike Kirk’s. There is possibly a Delaware business/entity which has ties with Joe Biden and will fare well due to this massive tax hike. The other explanation is where Mike Castle sits on the financial services committee and Wall Street (many of his donors) will make tons from this legislation.

Interesting to note, as well, is that red states will suffer the most. Pay back time? If red states lose money and constituents have nothing in their pockets there is a chance that our drug dealing government can swoop in and tempt you with their entitlement dope and try to get you hooked… More and more is starting to look less like a conspiracy.

Just out of curiosity I began digging on the past and current donations of the 8 Benedict Arnold’s of the Republican Party who voted in favor of cap-and-trade.

As I began to investigate who donated significant amounts to each candidate’s piggy bank, I noticed there was a common trend; these 8 GOPers all had enviro-groups, unions, & alternative energy companies putting money in their coffers.

As an interesting aside, there is a PAC called the Tuesday Group PAC and for all intents and purposes, it may as well be called the RINO PAC ~ 6 out of the 8 tr8ors were funded by this PAC.

Those same 6 are also funded by the Republican “Main Street” Partnership PAC ~ another RINO group.

Recall that GE and Honeywell at one point tried to merge – Honeywell has contributed to almost all of these 8 candidates and GE to some as well. GE is predominantly Democrat, so that should tell you something and at times GE has contributed for the 2010 campaign but did not contribute prior to that… Could the “eight” be getting a deal from both? GE and Honeywell are advocates of global warming and the cap-and-trade system.

The country was sold into government slavery and economic chaos by the traitorous GOP 8, who voted for the Cap and Tax bill today. The House spent over 5 hours debating this piece of legislation and there were high hopes that the Democrats didn’t have enough votes to pass it. It turns out that the GOP had some Benedict Arnold’s in their midst.

I have two new posters for these RINOs:

(created by Leo Alberti via Michelle Malkin)

If these 8 traitors had voted against the bill the final vote would have been 211 ayes vs. 220 nays, rather than 219 ayes vs. 212 nays. Jeff Flake was MIA for his daughter’s beauty pageant and Rep. Sullivan was in rehab.

I want to know what each traitor was offered to sell us out and I’m very curious to figure out the money trail in New Jersey, which has a huge clean energy program as well as various renewable energy sources. Even Rohrabacher R-CA didn’t vote for the bill even though Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (the company that T. Boone Pickens and Pelosi are vested in) is headquartered in his district (46).

It would have been nice if the media actually did its job and discussed real news that has a massive effect on the lives of Americans, rather than Michael Jackson’s obvious drug use and death. Most Americans are opposed to this legislation, but many were unaware that Congress was voting on it today – Wouldn’t it be nice if we could one day have an objective media that would actually give both sides to every story and read things like the suppressed EPA report on GloBull Warming? It’s late, so I can dream about it…
