Margaret Thatcher Appalled by Gordon Brown’s Spending Spree

I love this woman and it’s one of the reasons I am such a huge fan of Sarah Palin.  I see a lot of similarities between these two women.  Thatcher and Reagan were both ushered in at the right time and were kindred spirits with the same conservative values.

History truly repeats itself it would seem – and it also would seem that Baroness Thatcher feels the same way.  I implore you to substitute the word Democrat or Liberal for Labour in this article.

BARONESS THATCHER has revealed that she is “appalled” by Gordon Brown’s handling of the economy, 18 months after he feted her at Downing Street.

She is said by a close confidant to view his response to the economic crisis as a rerun of history, echoing the events of 1976, when James Callaghan’s Labour government had to ask the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout. Earlier this year David Cameron, the present Tory leader, warned that Britain might need another IMF rescue if Brown continued with his “irresponsible” financial recovery plan.

Thatcher rarely speaks publicly now; her concerns were relayed last week by Lord Lamont, the former chancellor in an interview in the political current affairs magazine Holyrood. “I can tell you exactly how she feels,” he said. “Mrs Thatcher is appalled by the current situation, very concerned about it indeed. I spoke to her very recently and her attitude is: this is how it always ends with Labour.”

Another close friend of Thatcher said the former leader believed Brown had spent beyond Britain’s means. “It’s an absolutely accurate description of every Labour government since the war,” he said. “They have always left office with a huge economic crisis – the public finances in a terrible state and the economy in disarray. She feels strongly about it because she came to power in 1979 after the Callaghan government had to go to the IMF. She sees it as a repeat of history.

Margaret Thatcher continues by getting several quips in there, in regards to Gordon Brown and the Labour party.

“Her general view would be that you have to have prudent economic management,” he continued, “and although Brown has used the word ‘prudence’ ad nauseam, it has only ever been a word, not an action.

“I have talked to her over the past five or six weeks, and her view is exactly what Norman [Lamont] said. This is what always happens. It always ends in disaster when you have a Labour government.”

I personally think it would be amazing for Baroness Thatcher to see the likes of Sarah Palin as the next POTUS and someone like Daniel Hannon of the Conservative Party in the U.K. as Prime Minister working together.

Gordon Brown Hails the Beginning of the New World Order… Obama is Still Clueless

Using words like collective, meaning collectivism, this should be very concerning to those who are still very patriotic and take pride in knowing that their country is free, relies on capitalism and is the last super power in the world.  However, this appears to be falling by the wayside as world leaders, including Obama, are set to “collectively” come together and possibly create a “one world economy” which could have tremendous negative consequences in the future.  Regulation will occur under what?  The guise of the United Nations for every business industry?  This is some scary stuff happening in these tough times!

Meanwhile, there are still more protesters in Europe who plan on distracting and disturbing the meetings.  They have estimated that anywhere from 30,000 to 60,000 protesters could show up for the NATO meeting at the end of this week.  Police are ready with teargas.  Police already used teargas on Thursday (European time) for a smaller rally.

It still never ceases to amaze me that Captain Obvious, Barack Hussein Obama, makes statements in his travels to Europe such as the following:

President Barack Obama says the world is a lot more complicated than it was in 1944.
That’s when the countries that were victorious in World War II met to establish the financial architecture for the postwar era.

Obama says negotiating is easy if it’s just Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill in a room, talking over brandy.

But he says that’s not the world we live in now.

Obama spoke at a news conference Thursday after a meeting in London of the world’s 20 largest and developing economies. The countries were meeting to address the worst economic crisis since World War II.

I didn’t realize that Obama was that old and knew how difficult or easy it was to negotiate with world leaders back then.  You learn something new everyday!

Upcoming G20 Summit Update: Obama to travel to Europe w/ 500+ Staff; Angela Merkel, Another Woman Gets it.

UPDATE:

Obama will travel to UK on his first international stop before the official G20 summit on Thursday.  He will be meeting several international leaders throughout the week for closed-door meetings and discussions.  With the recent uproar and hoopla regarding the global economic recession, banker outrage and govt. spending outrage, Obama will have tighther and more heightened security.  The Guardian UK is reporting the complete rundown – Here.

I find it incredibly interesting that several prominent women have been in the news lately, they have been writing or discussing our current economic troubles and some of the best ways to get out of the situation in the long run.  Each conservative female that I have heard speak on this issue agrees that spending more money will not work and will have long-term negative consequences for all involved.

ORIGINAL POST:

The most recent female in the news is not even American, she is German – and the German Chancellor no less.  Angela Merkel was recently elected Chancellor after a majority of European countries moved to the right, since socialism was having a bad effect on their economies.

Gordon Brown’s spending plan for the upcoming G20 summit on Thursday, April 2nd, was accidentally leaked, and other Prime Ministers and Chancellors caught wind of the “New Deal” to be rolled out during next week’s meeting.  Gordon Brown is calling for more than a $2 Trillion stimulus worldwide to end the recession.

The draft stated that Britain wanted a “$2 trillion” global fiscal stimulus. However, the figure appeared only in brackets, indicating agreement on the package had yet to be reached.

The stimulus would boost world growth by 2% and employment by 19m, the draft said. The rest of the document was mainly general pledges.

“We believe that an open world economy, based on the principles of the market, effective regulation and strong global institutions, can ensure sustainable globalisation with rising well-being for all,” it said.

A No 10 source expressed “disappointment” at the leak and insisted the $2 trillion figure was not new money but an expression of the total tax and spending packages already pledged by G20 members.

Privately, government officials admit that no further fiscal stimulus will be announced this week, although there will be a $250 billion package for the International Monetary Fund to help rescue struggling poor nations.

Thank You President Silva – I Didn’t Know I was Responsible for The Economic Crisis…

Ok – Maybe I am safe… I have brown eyes - but this is just too good not to post the entire thing!

Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Thursday blamed the global economic crisis on “white people with blue eyes” and said it was wrong that black and indigenous people should pay for white people’s mistakes.

Speaking in Brasília at a joint press conference with Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, Mr Lula da Silva told reporters: “This crisis was caused by the irrational behaviour of white people with blue eyes, who before the crisis appeared to know everything and now demonstrate that they know nothing.”

Last time I checked, Maxine Waters and Frank Raines were black!? (among various other representatives).  We also had bumbling Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Clinton, Bush, Carter etc… And we cannot forget that Clinton wasn’t technically white (at least not completely) he did consider himself the first black president.  As you can see – this was an equal opportunity crisis!

He added: “I do not know any black or indigenous bankers so I can only say [it is wrong] that this part of mankind which is victimised more than any other should pay for the crisis.”

Mr Brown appeared to distance himself from Mr Lula da Silva’s remarks. “I’m not going to attribute blame to any individuals,” he said.

Oh Really?  Wasn’t the former CEO of Merrill Lynch Black?  (Stan O’Neal) and again Franklin Raines of Fannie Mae Fame…  I will call the below pictures Exhibit A:

But I digress… as did Silva – he then got himself back on track to discuss the G20 Summit:

UK PM, Gordon Brown, Gets his Royal Arse Handed to Him

What they are calling him out on sounds very similar to what Obama is doing – his pointing the finger and blaming people, spending massive amounts of money that doesn’t exist, running up higher deficits and putting our children in a bad position for the future…  He even gets called out as a liar - wish someone would do this to Obama!
