TOWN HALL MEETING NOTICE

Do you live in Florida’s 24th Congressional District?

Do you believe that your voice is ignored by Rep. Suzanne Kosmas?

In fact, since her election, Suzanne Kosmas has not held a single town hall meeting providing any accountability to the people of the 24th District.

Ok, what has she done since she was elected?

She has failed us miserably by voting for huge deficit spending that adds to our already overwhelming National Debt, payable by us and our children.

She has failed us miserably by voting to increase the power and size of an already over-burdensome and non-accountable Federal Government.

She has failed us miserably by voting in favor of a failed and pork-filled stimulus scheme & a bloated, pork-filled budget.

She has failed us miserably by voting in favor of a “cap & trade” tax scheme that would increase cost of all produced goods, utilities and gasoline for everyone.

She again failed us miserably by voting “yea” on a job killing, budget busting, liberty robbing, government growing, health care scheme opposed by the majority.

Were all that not enough, unemployment in the state of Florida has risen 50% from an level in January 09 to over 12.2% in February 2010, all on her watch.

It’s time to hold her accountable for her votes, and since she

refuses to meet WITH us, we will be sure that she hears FROM us!

Come to the 24th Congressional District Town Hall and be heard. Make comments and ask questions as you would in any typical town hall setting. We will feature an empty podium with Rep. Kosmas nameplate on it as a symbol of how she has turned a deaf ear to our district and our will. We will have the entire meeting recorded on video to share with Rep Kosmas and to post on “youtube” (and other sites). We believe it’s important to document how we feel about her non-representation of us, and to share that with media outlets and the voters in our district between now and Election Day.

We Conservatives are virtually all angry that Congress doesn’t give a rat’s behind about us these days. The House passed their version of the unconstitutional health care bill and are enjoying gloating about it before our angry, red faces. We would all like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Louise ‘Slaughter-of-the-innocents,’ Charlie ‘Don’t-pay-my-taxes’ Rangel, Dingell, and not to mention Obama, to go away; or worse.

We know, the Republicans did their best to oppose this 2000-page behemoth but, they don’t get that passing ANY bill like this is still unconstitutional. The fact that we are out-numbered by the liberal socialists in Congress causes a feeling of helplessness among most of us. We’re itching to do something, but we don’t know what that is. Some of us are ready to “lock and load” and start “The Revolution.” I understand completely! But the government hasn’t sent in the troops yet to collect our weapons as in the battle of Lexington and Concord. Hopefully, that day never comes. We are also scattered all over the country. It’s not like we are all located in one town where we are able to meet and devise a plan of action. We’re looking for that “one” leader who understands what life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness actually mean; knows the Founding Fathers; and will rise up so we can follow him or her—and patience is not one our virtues lately.

Now take a deep breath! After the anger passes and common sense and logic begin to kick in, there are still some things left we can do:

- Call your Senators and tell them that if they pass this or any unconstitutional health care bill and it is signed into law, you’re not going to follow it or comply with it. It is “unlawful” and they don’t have to power to pass such a law. The U.S. Government has been operating unconstitutionally for a hundred years and it’s time they stop! If you need help, go this site DownSizeDC.org where you’ll find all the tools you need to communicate to your senators and representatives.

- Boycott all companies who pander to liberal socialists and give them lots of lobbying money and bribes for their campaigns, and for persuading them to write unconstitutional laws. Check with OpenSecrets for information on who’s lobbying whom and how much money is being given to whom.

- Continue to participate in the protests whether that be with the Tea Party movement, Town Hall meetings, 9/12 Project, or just getting together with a large group to protest at your state capitol.

- Educate yourself on the Constitution and the Federalist Papers (which illustrate the original intent of the Founders in drafting the Constitution.) Don’t be ignorant when you’re faced with a Congressman or woman who asks you why the government’s health care plan is unconstitutional, and you stand there and say, “You are taking our rights away!”. They’re going to ask you “what rights are we taking away?” and if you can’t answer, how do you think that makes you look? The prophet Isaiah wrote: “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The left thinks you are a bunch of backwoods hicks in fly-over country clinging to your bibles and guns. Show them they are dead wrong!

- Continue to network with patriots on Twitter or other social networks.

- Don’t give up and never give in! We still have the elections of 2010!

Remember, we must give all men and women a chance to make things right first. When we’ve exhausted all possibilities, then be at inner peace with yourself that you’ve done everything you could do. Then wait patiently and see what happens next.

What is the truth in a “civilian army” as described briefly by President Obama?
Does anyone recall the significance of Kent State as regards protests and military action?

Recently the term brownshirts, has been thrown around in conversations, and I have myself written about the use of propaganda on our children and young adults as some kind of recruitment tool.

But the term “brownshirt” doesn’t just hearken back to the start of Hitler’s Nazi Party. The word, “brownshirt,” was used by Vice President Spiro Agnew to describe student demonstrators in the 1970s and the setting for that use was Richard Nixon’s illegal invasion of Cambodia. The whole resulting incident was perhaps set to develop into something terrible when the late Gov. James Rhodes (R-Ohio), sent troops to Kent State University to help quell growing disturbances.

Rhodes had been heard calling the demonstrators, “the strongest, well-trained militant revolutionary group that has ever assembled in America … They’re worse than the brownshirts and the Communist element and the night riders and the vigilantes. They are the worst type of people that we harbor in America….” Interesting how these words seem to match in tenor, the ways current-day, regular Americans are being derided at public meetings and described by congressional leadership.

In the 70s, four students died at Kent State after being fired upon by National Guardsmen. Two days later, the number was upped to six as police fired into a college dormitory without provocation. No officers or government leadership were ever brought to trial for these killings, although eight low-ranking guardsmen were put on trial and acquitted. In an amplified version of the tape, a Guard officer is can be heard shouting, “Right here! Get Set! Point! Fire!”

So, when we use the term “civilian army,” does that give anyone else pause?

The funding is already available, provided by our bailouts, and stimulus money, which is being filtered here and there. There’s literally trillions of dollars, and no one has any real idea what it will all be used for in the next ten years, as no one is really reading the bills they are passing. But if they carry through with the development of some kind of civilian army where will these people for this group come from?

I believe this will be our younger generation – today’s children – our children. And what will be their task? Will they be some kind of new federal uniformed force, their presence felt on our streets and in our day-to-day lives? How will their jobs overlap with local police forces? Will they be allowed to carry weapons? What will be the basis of their authority? Will their authority override that of city or state governments? What regulations will they be required to follow? Who will they answer to? Will they have their own detention centers – their own intel-gatherering network and their own interrogators? How will they be accepted by members of the actual active duty, reserve and guard military and by veterans?

This “civilian army” idea does seem on the surface to re-invent the real “brown shirts.” But direct details are scarce. The only way to get a grasp on what is meant by the term is to look at the things which are currently being done by the administration in our school system and elsewhere – and what was originally touted as Obama’s plans during his campaign. In making a judgment on all this, the reader should factor-in the recruitment programs underway to press those in college and with college loans, into volunteer programs funded, organized and administered by the federal government to assist in “furthering Barrack Obama’s agenda.”

So, we may soon face this new political police force – this American KGB. And does that mean our country will still be the United States of America, or will it mean that it would be more accurately be called the United Socialist States of America?

And what of freedom? Well, that ideal is already so thin it’s nearly intangible. In fact, it’s becoming more of an illusion with every passing action the current administration takes, and it will be merely a memory, the day this new “army” takes to the streets.

But the saddest thing of all, is that it will once again be children, who are pulled into the vortex of out-of-control government and political ideology. It’s an ideology, which has been proven to be a failure and the foundation for true horror and inhumanity throughout history.

We’ve all heard Barbara- Don’t Call Me Ma’am- Boxer’s comment about the townhall protesters being well dressed and hence, not grassroots. Seems those on the left believe that their own constituents are nothing but low rent, can’t dress properly for public exposure imbeciles. If I was a liberal I would be mad as hell that my leadership thinks so little of not just my manners but also my ability to articulate my grievances in a civilized fashion. And then I saw this… a video of anti-Bush protesters from 2004. They called themselves The Smoketown Six. This video shined a whole new ‘moon’ light on Boxer’s comment. Seems liberals indeed don’t wear clothes to protest rallies.

Caution- ugly liberals butts are shown in this video:

I’ve grown up my whole life in the state of Michigan, so I’ve seen firsthand what it’s like to struggle. I’ve seen others struggle and I’ve witnessed it in my own family. In the past, I’ve seen my dad become an unemployment statistic several times. Most recently, back in November. This time was the hardest (for me anyways). I was at the age now where I could fully understand the gravity of the situation. I remember my mom telling me after school and I broke down in the hallway, I knew how much it meant to my dad to be working and providing for our family and now all of a sudden he couldn’t. My immediate (selfish) thought was “What are we going to do about Christmas.” Quickly, I realized that this Christmas was going to have to be about what I needed not necessarily about what I wanted. Christmas was scant this year, but I wasn’t disappointed. I learned a valuable lesson during this time: thankfulness. It’s a shame something like my dad losing his job had to happen for me to realize all that God has blessed my family with. Not once was my family without food or shelter. God provided for our needs and he has continued to provide for them.

Since that time my dad has started his own DVD business. I’ve learned from my dad what it means to work hard and never give up. I’ve watched my dad work his tail off to get new customers and stay up until 4am working on a project. Anyone who has started a business knows that the first year is the most difficult, and that has proven to be true for my family. He had a part time job selling power chairs and scooters, but that fell through this summer because of the changes going on with Medicare. My dad continues to search for a part time job until he is confident enough that his business alone can bring in sufficient money for my family.

My mother is doing her share as well, in addition to teaching during the school year she started a part time job doing data entry. She’s been working 3x a week this summer, and will continue to do so during the school year, going from teaching all day to working about 5hrs at night. Life hasn’t been easy, but we were never promised it would be. Not by God, or by government. God tells us life won’t be easy, but with His help we will make it through. Neither the Constitution nor the Declaration of Independence promises the American person success or complete happiness. We may pursue happiness, but whether we end up happy or not depends on how badly we want that happiness.

I’ve attended a private Christian school and a Baptist church my whole life, so I’ve been taught what is right and what is wrong. I’ve been taught to have good morals and obey authority. But I learned a lesson from a teacher this past year that I hope I never forget. The lesson is: regardless of your great upbringing, family background, and the fact that you call yourself a Christian does not mean you are exempt from failure. Whether it be failing God, family or yourself. All of us are liable to becoming the scum of the earth no matter what our history or how wise we think we are. That is why I feel it important as a young person to nail down what I believe and WHO I believe in, God. Every night I pray that I stay on the right path, not just the right spiritual path, but the right path for my life.

Since I am still in high school my life experiences are limited. And it has become increasingly apparent to me that I’m one of the few teens in this country who has a passion for what is happening. I have found it difficult to relate to teens my age, since none of them know what is going on, nor do they care when I try to explain it to them. I usually get a response like “Haha, Obama is the Antichrist” or “Obama’s so stupid”. That is not the point I’m trying to get across when I tell my peers that our freedoms are being taken away from us! I believe I get these responses because first of all, they probably don’t understand what “cap and trade” is or how big of a deal “nationalized healthcare is,” and secondly, they don’t think it will have any direct effect on them and a lot of kids haven’t read important documents like the Constitution so they won’t know when freedoms are being taken away. When talking to my peers I’m not asking them to have the sudden urge to run for political office or sit around watching the news all day. I simply wish they would take the time to educate themselves instead of sitting in front of the computer or Xbox all day.

I also find it hard to relate to some classmates during the school year. I don’t know what I have in me that has wired me so differently, but I cannot for the life of me get some of my classmates to understand why I study, do homework, and actually read the books being assigned to us. Do I think myself any better than these people because I do my homework? Absolutely not. But these are the people I fear will be sitting on the side of the road one day if they don’t get their act together. Perhaps it’s the fact that I’ve seen what great results come from working hard. I wasn’t blessed with a 4.0 brain but I was blessed with a work-ethic. And I think work ethic will get you farther in life than a 4.0 brain or an Ivy League degree. I’m not the kid who sits in class and doesn’t take notes, doesn’t study, then takes the test and gets an A. I’m the kid that sits in class, takes way to many notes, studies her butt of and gets the excitement of seeing that red A on her paper. For me that is more rewarding than the first kid I mentioned. I never have been nor do I want to be who person that gets everything handed to her. I enjoy working hard because I enjoy seeing it pay off.

I believe the above explanations help shape why I’m a conservative. My values, traditions and outlook on life have helped me realize what it is that makes me a conservative versus being a liberal. Being a conservative or liberal is a choice YOU have to make for yourself-you aren’t told what you are-you decide. I think that is something the youth in America is struggling with. In todays society it’s become more and more popular to be a liberal. Suddenly having morals is “uncool”. It’s cooler now to follow the crowd, and become someone you are not. That is why it is imperative that you find out who you are, who you believe in, what you believe in and why, and at a young age.

I’m a conservative because I believe in freedom, the Constitution, Bill of Rights, the power of the individual, freedom, the free market, small government and most of all RESPONSIBILITY. As a conservative I understand what a tremendous blessing it is to be living in the United States, but I also realize the huge responsibility that comes along with it. The Bill of Rights is where we find things that are considered “rights.” But the 10th Amendment reminds me that we don’t all have a right to everything, like healthcare. Healthcare is a responsibility, just like owning a car or house. I believe competition is good for the country and for the American. I’m a soccer player so I’ve got that competitive drive in me and I think if Americans get used to just being handed things our country will become less competitive making more people lazy, which will harm this country greatly.

As a teen what scares me the most about the direction our country is headed is when I hear men well into their 60s-70s say things like “Well, I’m just glad I’m old and won’t be here much longer. It’s the younger ones I fear for. They’ve got a lot coming.” I see where this country is going and I realize that the youths future is being decided for them and that should scare every teenager. I know history and I know “those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” -Edmund Burke. So my message to teens is: KNOW YOUR HISTORY. Educate yourself, learn about the Founding Fathers, learn about paths other countries have gone down and how it’s failed them. Learn about the Constitution. That way you’ll be able to see when someone is taking something away from you that they don’t have the right to do. I’ve got my whole life ahead of me but I’d like to have the ability to make my own decisions in the future.

I’m 17, I’m proud to call myself a conservative, but even more proud call myself an American!

George Soros, one of the wealthiest men in the world, as well as one of the largest hedge fund owners, is behind Obamacare.

Health Care for America Now (HCAN), endorsed by President Obama as the coalition pushing his health-care (euthanasia) reform, is a project of billionaire British-agent speculator George Soros, his Tides Foundation, and the Saul Alinsky counter-insurgency networks Soros used to ramp up the Obama Presidential candidacy.

Though labor unionists will come into Washington on June 25 to rally and lobby for the Obama “reform,” the HCAN organization sponsoring the D.C. events explicitly opposes the single-payer health-care plan favored by labor and by most Americans.

The group was established in July 2008 as an adjunct to the Soros operations supporting the Obama candidacy. At the outset, HCAN National Campaign Director Richard Kirsch wrote (July 16, 2008, Huffingtonpost) under the headline, “Why Not Single-Payer?” “I want to take a moment and address those of you who have been asking why Health Care for America Now is not focusing on creating a single-payer health insurance system.” Kirsch explains that he used to believe in that sort of thing, but came to realize it would scare people.

Here’s a little more about HCAN from an op-ed by Michelle Malkin:

HCAN has a $40 million budget, with $10 million pitched in by The Atlantic Philanthropies — a Bermuda-based organization fronted by Soros acolyte Gara LaMarche. Also in the money mix: notorious Democratic donors Herb and Marion Sandler, the left-wing moguls who made billions selling subprime mortgages and helped Soros fund his vast network of left-wing activist satellites. By their side is billionaire Peter Lewis of Progressive Insurance, whose “Progressive Future” youth group has dispatched clueless volunteers armed with clip-boards and literature bashing Rush Limbaugh and Fox News to scare up support for Obamacare.

And two more left-wing heavyweights joining the HCAN parade: the corruption-plagued SEIU (which has battled numerous embezzlement scandals among its chapters across the country while crusading for consumer and patients’ rights) and Obama’s old chums at fraud-riddled ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Oh the tangled web we weave. The tentacles of all the progressive organizations are intertwined as much as the sub-prime market was woven throughout the stock market. These progressive groups with their new super majority finally feel as though they can pass through their agenda.

It doesn’t cease to amaze me how connected all of these groups are. This begs the question – who is the head of the snake? Is it George Soros? There was a lot of speculation and perhaps a lot of fact, of his attempting to bring down the United Kingdom. Many of these radical left wing groups are funded and run by the same individuals. I hope that somebody can someday figure out the exact tree/web/links in the chain, and make a movie out of it. It could be called The Twilight Zone – never mind that movie already exists… but perhaps something similar!

George Soros is also involved in another scheme that has not received much attention at all. He has received over $300K of taxpayer dollars to open a restaurant in a very run-down, poor area of New York where, on average, people only make about $30K per year and pay their taxes like law-abiding citizens. Mind you, this man made millions, if not billions, last year during the collapse so please keep that in mind as you read about his ties to progressive groups, his encouragement for government run health care and cap & trade, etc.

George Soros is opening up another Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in the old rust belt of up-state New York; Troy. His company, Soros Strategic Partners, owns over 70% of the famous rib joint among other things like moveon.org, factcheck.org, hedge funds, not to mention he is also the single largest contributor to the DNC.

When Soros found the right building to create an additional franchise, the building came with a gift of approximately $218K of back taxes. Normally, the back taxes on a building would be tacked on to the purchase price of the property but, because it’s Soros and as we’ve seen with ACORN and his other groups, he can just bully his way into welfare for the rich and additional perks that men like him could afford on their own.

Further, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is getting a five-year deferment on the property tax that improvements on its property would have otherwise obligated it to. That five-year lag will continue for 20 years.

Meaning that Dinosaur Bar-B-Que will spend the next two decades paying less than its fair share of property taxes – while the locally owned businesses against which it competes will have to pay their full obligation.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is also being given exemption from $60,000 in sales tax for materials used to improve its building, and the $53,000 fee for recording its mortgage is being waived.

These are just further examples of progressive policies and individuals becoming cancers on our society.

Schumer, Gutierrez and Waters Honored for Governing the “ACORN Way” at Anniversary Celebration

If there are any lingering doubts that ACORN has been an organization that was squarely in the tank for Democrats, ACORN (which has never been coy about its thuggery and aspirations of political power) has offered proof in their own words. ACORN’s 39th Anniversary celebration takes place on June 17th, 2009 and it promises to be filled with a who’s who of Democrats.

Sadly for new puppies everywhere, this announcement is also another nail in the coffin of the Main Stream Media, as the RSVP at the bottom is that of The Advance Group, a major firm specializing in public relations. The Advance Group has many contacts in the MSM, but this event has been surprisingly kept under wraps. How is it possible that ACORN, who is in the middle of a ground war with bloggers and right leaning newspapers across the country (MSM reports only when they have to), has managed to plan a major event in DC with little media scrutiny. The email accompanying the attachment is also very telling, the full text appears below. The ACORN ties of each honoree or member would require another 10 to 15 posts.

To: undisclosed-recipients:

Subject: ACORN 39th Anniversary Celebration Honoring Senator Schumer and

Representatives Gutierrez & Waters {INVITE}

Dear friends,

I would like to thank you for your generous contribution and support for ACORN in 2009. I am writing to invite you to attend or sponsor ACORN’s 39th Anniversary Celebration. We are hosting an event in Washington, DC on June 17 to honor the work of Senator Charles Schumer, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Rep. Maxine Waters and AFT President Randi Weingarten. We’ll also be recognizing our newly formed Advisory Committee: Dave Beckwith, Henry Cisneros, Eric Eve, Harvey Hirschfeld, Kathleen Kennedy-Townsend, John Podesta and Andy Stern. We’d be delighted if you join us and, of course would love it if you could help sponsor the event even if you can’t be there in person.

With the help of so many generous supporters, in 2008 ACORN organized, helped register, and spoke face-to-face with more than a million low-income voters who changed history when they went out to vote—many for the first time—in the historic November election.

In 2009 we are engaged as a strong partner in the progressive movement, fighting to make the change people voted for a reality and win real action on healthcare, housing, comprehensive immigration reform and more.

Of course, not everyone appreciates our work as much as you and I do: Right-wing extremists continue to attack ACORN with unfounded allegations. Various conspiracy theories allege that ACORN has taken control of the Census, the FCC, the banking system, and $8 billion in federal funds; alas, it is all false! In many ways it is an honor to be an A-list enemy of people like Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity. But it isn’t cheap or easy to combat outlandish attacks while redoubling our efforts to organize ordinary people for progressive change.

And that’s why we need your help. Please join others who support our work. Please consider sponsoring our 39th Anniversary Celebration and on June 17, 2009.

Attach is an invitation to our event with options to buy tickets or sponsor at various levels. You can return the form with your check to ACORN (or tax-deductible contribution to the ACORN Institute) to:

P.S. ACORN’s grassroots leadership believes we are experiencing a once-in-a-generation opportunity and must not squander this moment. Your generosity is needed now more than ever. Thanks.

I suspect this once-in-a-generation opportunity involves radical change in America, and a quick look at the honorees gives the appearance that this is actually a victory party. Like many high ranking Democrats, Charles Schumer has quite a history with ACORN. A Schumer website press release states;

“The U.S. Senate gave final approval Wednesday to a measure proposed by U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Robert P. Casey (D-PA) to grant $100 million in funding to housing non-profits on the front lines of the fight to prevent a national foreclosure crisis from the subprime lending fallout. The measure—which would provide resources to government-approved agencies that help negotiate between borrowers and lenders to keep families in their homes—was contained in the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) spending bill that passed the full Senate this morning.”

…The initiative by Sens. Schumer, Brown, and Casey has been welcomed by the nonprofit entities, which have seen demand for their services soar in recent months. Among the groups supportive of the effort are: National NeighborWorks Association, Center for Responsible Lending, Consumer Federation of America (CFA), National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), and Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

In addition to high profile Democrats with a pattern of doing favors for ACORN, the newly formed ACORN Advisory Committee is made up of familiar faces. For space and time reasons, I will not touch upon Andy Stern, President of SEIU, but his presence on the committee should be duly noted. However, former head of Obama’s Transition Team, John Podesta continues to openly support the “non-partisan” group. A “transcript of a management conference call dated March 20, 2006 states that:

“During a December 2006 Year End/Year beginning ACORN staff meeting in New Orleans, Podesta traveled there to speak to staff in a December 15 2006 session entitled: Preparing for Power: The Next Cycle?

Very interesting title and I am sure ACORN will state that it is a coincidence. Podesta also seemed to not only be yet another ACORN/Sandler link but also a go to guy for finance. In a management conference call dated March 20, 2006 it states that:

“WFP Ballot Line: Chris Entrikin to get signs in SC and hiring an operative to help with it. OR the committee is not going to the ballot in 06. In WA Clare C. (Crawford) meeting with honchos to see if going to ballot in 06. MA. Fundraising problems. AFSCME wants to block endorsement by state Fed. We did briefing w/John Podesta to help drum up $$. No word yet.”

Henry Cisneros, another member of the committee served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under President Clinton. ACORN’s own website describes this access to Democrats in power in a section called Insider Opportunites:

“Democratic control of the federal government meant that ACORN had increased access to top officials with more sympathetic ears. ACORN members began regular meetings with Henry Cisneros, HUD Secretary under President Clinton, on a variety of issues. ACORN organizing began to include more tenant groups under the ACORN Tenant Union (ATU), and Cisneros was increasingly helpful.”

In the section entitled Focus on Partnerships ACORN says:

“In July of 1994, ACORN invited insurers to a national Insurance Summit in Chicago where the Neighborhood and Home Safety Program was presented. The keynote speaker at the Summit was HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, who lauded ACORN’s efforts and pledged to investigate violations of the Fair Housing Act by insurers. Summit participants included the eight largest companies which write over 40% of the country’s homeowners insurance. They took a tour of a typical ACORN neighborhood and attended a session explaining the benefits and success of neighborhood organizing and programs. After the summit, ACORN entered into negotiations with a number of the participating insurers to put the Neighborhood and Home Safety program into effect.”

A little investigative reporting by the MSM would uncover the roots and seeds for the housing collapse at this very gathering. Each one of the honorees or committee members has put ACORN’s goals and aspirations to power over the true needs of the people. ACORN and its cronies were aware of what was happening, but chose to capitalize on a historic power grab, as this December 2006 quote from an ACORN year end report illustrates (emphasis mine):

“In 2006 we saw the cracks begin to form in the subprime mortgage market with foreclosures on the rise and hundreds of billions of dollars in ARMs resetting. All signs indicate that in 2007 things will be even worse and the system could rupture. We need to be right there when it does.”

Congratulations to Schumer, Gutierrez and Waters; your association with ACORN has left you with a myriad of things to celebrate, foreclosures, fraud, missing tax dollars and a legacy of thuggery.

The hypocrisy continues…

The story of Obama banning access to White House visitor lists is still developing – the irony, however, is a judge ruled in 2007 that visitor lists are in fact public record.

The White House must release its visitor logs and cannot hide behind a shield of privilege, a federal judge ruled Monday. The Bush administration has resisted public disclosure while it fights a lawsuit over alleged political influence by conservative Christian leaders.

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth concluded the information is part of the public record and is subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act as “agency records.”

And what does the Obama administration have to say about Transparency and Open Government on his White House website?

Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.

Another transparency story, granted not as large, entails the Obama administration keeping secret 44 coal ash sites.

The Obama administration has decided to keep secret the locations of nearly four dozen coal ash storage sites that pose a threat to people living nearby.

The Environmental Protection Agency classified the 44 sites as potential hazards to communities while investigating storage of coal ash waste after a spill at a Tennessee power plant in December. The classification means the waste sites could cause death and significant property damage if an event such as a storm, a terrorist attack, or a structural failure caused them to spill.

Who would want to know if they were living close to hazardous waste – I know I wouldn’t care!/sarc.

Were the liberals not screaming about transparency and open government previously? Why the complacency all of the sudden? That’s a rhetorical question…

Oh the irony, I am seriously trying to laugh these days but it is becoming more difficult to do as these things that one would never think were possible are all coming to pass… If we want to root out the tax cheats why don’t we take a look and investigate Obama’s cabinet first?

President Obama announced Monday a plan to prevent U.S. companies using offshore banks to deferr tax payments, saying that the effort to “shelter” money creates an unfair advantage to U.S. companies and amounts to evasion.

There is a legitimate reason that corporations use tax shelters/tax havens and this has everything to do with the economic policies that have been implemented by government officials who have never worked in a corporation or taken business or economics classes. The United States is the only country that requires double taxation on profits. Not only do you have to pay taxes from overseas operations you also get taxed again if you bring those profits back to the States. Tax shelters have been legal for a very long time and for that very reason. The company can use that money to reinvest in their overseas operations without losing additional money from the double taxation policies.

The president also called for more transparency in bank accounts held by Americans in tax havens such as the Cayman Islands.

“The way to make American businesses competitive is not to let some citizens and businesses dodge their responsibility, while ordinary Americans pick up the slack. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what we’re doing,” Obama said.

There is no responsibility dodging which is the amusing part about this statement. Technically speaking, they are responsible by paying their international taxes. This is just another power grab and a way in which their administration can use another avenue to pay off the massive amount of debt will be incurring over the years.

“If financial institutions won’t cooperate with us, we will assume that they are sheltering money in tax havens and act accordingly,” he continued.

Sounds like the beginning of another witch hunt. I feel like we may see a resurrgence of McCarthyism but this time on the other side of the aisle against all of us nasty Capitalists!

Under the plan, companies would not be able to write off domestic expenses for generating profits abroad. The goal is to reduce the incentive for U.S. companies to base all or part of their operations in other countries.

The reason that companies go overseas in the first place has everything to do with taxes that are already in place in the United States. Our corporate tax rate is the second highest in the world after Japan. Most companies like to diversify and have other means of income and more leniency with tax policy. It also gives the company an opportunity to market their products and services abroad. Companies don’t keep all of their money overseas and in tax havens – some of it is brought back over to the Stats to reinvest in home operations but much of it is kept outside the border if they plan on reinvesting that money back into it’s overseas locations. Maybe if Democrats could put their ideology aside due to economic or outside situations, they could actually do what is best for the country ~ cut corporate tax rates to bring more investment from overseas into the United States – this would resolve much of the problems and would help create jobs.

The current law, Obama said, “says you should pay lower taxes if you create a job in Bangalore, India, than if you create one in Buffalo, New York. ”

Obama said that his plan would generate $210 billion in new taxes over 10 years and “make it easier” for companies to create jobs at home. Over a decade, $210 billion would make a modest dent in the federal deficit, expected to be $1.2 trillion in 2010.

Exactly, due to his ridiculous spend thrift policies, this is just a drop in the bucket and will wind up having more negative effects than positive.

He said the government also is hiring nearly 800 new tax agents “to detect and pursue American tax evaders abroad.”

Oh goody – more jobs that actually produce nothing but will cost those who do produce more money due to all the red tape just like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce issued a statement saying that changing the provisions would hurt job prospects.

But why listen to the non-partisan group, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, let’s just do whatever my socialist agenda tells me to…

This is a nightmare!

Don’t be surprised if the DOW remains up today – this is most likely those lovely limousine liberals on Wall Street who love to sucker regular people into fake rallies. Check out the trade volume before you get any ideas.

What is wrong with our country? You can’t have an opinion any longer if it is a conservative or Christian viewpoint? Your opinion must coincide with these gay bigoted activists? Your opinion must be liberal in order to be acceptable? People are now required to toss their principles aside to appease others? How is this freedom of speech and how is what the Miss America Pageant did and Perez Hilton said not considered discriminatory?

Good for Carrie PreJean, Miss California, she should be allowed to state her opinions when answering a question and not kowtow to please the judges or anyone else for that matter! She is allowed to believe and speak whatever she feels is right.

This reminds me of getting graded poorly on a paper, not because it wasn’t well-written or because it didn’t have substance, but rather because the substance did not coincide and agree with the professor’s beliefs.

What Perez Hilton did in that video clip is the prime example of the Left’s hypocrisy and double standards. They force everyone else to agree with them – how is that freedom? Miss California even said “no offense to anyone who disagrees” – she actually said that it was great we live in a country that allows us to have a choice and to decide – she never said she wanted to force her beliefs on Perez or any other person that is for gay marriage. But leave it to some gay activist who becomes seemingly fascist in their rants to want to do the exact opposite.

Perez Hilton’s only claim to fame is being a hateful, prejudiced wench, making money off the embarrassment and folly of others.

And why would the Pageant even allow these types of politically charged, controversial questions to be asked? I’m waiting for a conservative question to be asked at one of these things and I personally doubt that will ever happen. How sad is that?
