The G.I.V.E Act Signed by Obama

Calling on Americans to volunteer, President Barack Obama signed a $5.7 billion national service bill Tuesday that triples the size of the AmeriCorps service program over the next eight years and expands ways for students to earn money for college.

“We need your service, right now, in this moment in history. … I’m asking you to stand up and play your part,” said Obama, a former community organizer in Chicago. “I’m asking you to help change history’s course.”

Joining Obama was Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, who has been battling brain cancer. Kennedy championed the legislation with Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and the bill was named in honor of the Massachusetts Democrat.

Kennedy told the audience that included former President Bill Clinton, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former first lady Rosalyn Carter that Obama’s efforts echoed that of his late brother, former President John F. Kennedy.

“Today, another young president has challenged another generation to give back to their nation,” Kennedy said, citing his brother’s advocacy of the Peace Corps.

The service law expands ways for students and seniors to earn money for college through their volunteer work. It aims to foster and fulfill people’s desire to make a difference, such as by mentoring children, cleaning up parks or buildings and weatherizing homes for the poor.

Bolstering voluntary public service programs has been a priority of Obama, who credits his work as a community organizer in his early 20s for giving him direction in life. The president cited his work in Chicago as an example of how one person can make a difference.

“All that’s required on your part is a willingness to make a difference,” Obama said. “That’s the beauty of it; everybody can do it.”

Anybody else see this as a means to an end?  A goal to indoctrinate more youth for political gain?  Follow the money – if you get money from the government you will vote that way – trust me.

I can think of several other occasions in history where this was passed, based on some philanthropic, feel-good premise, only to wind up being utilized for ideological purposes… that didn’t end well.

Obots On The Loose

This is just plain creepy… Obama is yet again calling to arms his Zombie Task Force.  I have to question whether any of these sheeple actually have a job or know anything about economics, policy or just common sense?  I’m not sure any of these kool-aid drinkers have ever had a non-conformist or modicum of self-thought in their life!

Onto Mr. Creepy – Obama’s Letter to his Zombies urging them to make their rounds:

US President Barack Obama mustered his powerful campaign army on Monday, calling on his millions of supporters to lobby on behalf of his budget and economic plan.

The appeal to back the president was made in an email and video sent out by “Organizing for America,” the organization which morphed out of Obama’s campaign machinery to push his agenda when he entered the White House.

In the video, Mitch Stewart, the director of Organizing for America, urged the president’s supporters to take part in the “Organizing for America Pledge Project.”

“The pledge project is an ambitious effort to map out and identify support for President Obama’s economic blueprint across towns and communities in America,” Stewart said.

“We’re doing that by asking people to pledge your support for the broad initiatives outlined in President Obama’s economic plan.

Hmm… So the man is still campaigning, it’s always hard to leave a job when you know how it works… it’s scary moving onto something you don’t have much experience in and for Barry… that would be leadership.  So we are now going to have zombies visiting us door-to-door…people who have never run a business nor worked at one, …CHECK PLEASE!

“Once you do, we will ask you to build support in your own communities by forwarding this pledge by email, by knocking on doors and by making phone call,” he said.

Please don’t bother, I get enough SPAM in my inbox and enough telemarketers calling me during dinner.

“We will show in every state, in every congressional district the hunger, for leadership and long range thinking that’s in too short supply here in Washington.”

Stewart said Obama’s budget provides a “bold blueprint for our country’s future.

“It addresses three of the most pressing challenges facing our nation: health care, energy and education,” he said.

“That’s the good news. The bad news is that as a result the special interests and the old habits in Washington will dig in even more.

Oh Dear Apostles of Obama, please show me the way… for I have sinned and Obama is the light.  How will any of these LOSERS show us the way?  I have seen how they treat those  they disapprove of such as Bush and others who dissent in regards to his policies and ideas.  Healthcare (nationalized), Education and Energy (Greenie policies), are not the first things on my list to stimulate the economy – sounds like Obama skipped ECON 101.  And don’t even get me started on that last sentence – who pray tell is in his cabinet?  Lobbyists, Special Interest Group members and leaders and Clinton retreads.

“It’s up to you to make sure that they don’t stand in our way.

This little gem should be set aside by itself – this stinks of “Obama Youth” and is creepy enough just by its lonesome!

“By pledging and building support you will be taking the first steps towards establishing a nationwide grassroots network, neighborhood by neighborhood, standing side by side with President Obama as we bring about our agenda for change.”

What was it that Jenny from Forrest Gump said? “Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far – far, far away from here!”

The appeal to grass roots supporters closely follows the tactics used by Obama during his triumphant election campaign and is another sign that the president plans to use the organization to help pass difficult legislation.

Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, has stressed that Organizing for America is not aimed at twisting the arms of members of Congress but meant to keep activists engaged on issues such as health care, energy and the economy.

I just hope the zombies don’t want my brains next!  I’ve seen what they’ve done to the liberals…CHORTLE
