The Only Ones With Cajones in the GOP are Women; UPDATE: AUDIO ADDED (Under Excerpts)

Sarah Palin has been laying it on the line and with all the negative media attention she received last year, it shows that this woman knows she has nothing to lose and could care less what others think at this point.  Her attitude is what is needed during this time of media propagandizing and kowtowing to the Democrats, especially Obama – it’s about time that somebody within the GOP actually stands on principle – not politics as usual, special interests, PC mumbo-jumbo, or money.

Palin has made statements regarding the North Korean missile threats and Obama’s budget cuts aimed at specific defense programs.  Sarah has issued very poignant, concise, intelligent statements on Dr. Tiller and William Long (the military recruiter).  She has vetoed some stimulus funds that had universal energy codes attached to them – something that Alaska certainly does not need.  Sarah has also continued her fight for the gas pipeline.  Governor Palin was most recently attending a rally in honor of Ronald Reagan, where son Michael Reagan, was the keynote speaker, in Anchorage.  During a brief 17 minute introduction of Michael Reagan she made statements regarding the control government wants over not only the states, but us, as individuals.  Have any GOP beltway hacks so much as inferred this?

Here is part of her speech:

“Since when can you get out of huge national debt by creating trillions of dollars of new debt?” Palin asked. “It all really is so backwards and skewed as to sound like absolute nonsense when some of this economic policy is explained.”

“We need to be aware of the creation of a fearful population, and fearful lawmakers, being led to believe that big government is the answer, to bail out the private sector, because then government gets to get in there and control it,” she said. “And mark my words, this is going to be next, I fear, bail out next debt-ridden states. Then government gets to get in there and control the people.”

“Some in Washington would approach our economic woes in ways that absolutely defy Economics 101, and they fly in the face of principles, providing opportunity for industrious Americans to succeed or to fail on their own accord,” she said. “Those principles it makes you wonder what the heck some in Washington are trying to accomplish here.”

Though the bulk of her remarks focused on government encroachment into the private sector, and praise for former President Reagan’s views on limited government, the former vice presidential candidate briefly touched on national security. She told the crowd that “the terrorists are still dead set against us” and that her son Track is still deployed in Iraq.
“It is war over there, so it will not be war over here,” she said. “And it had better still be our mission that we win, they lose.”

She also pointed to the recent dismissal of another ethics complaint against her, one that accused the governor of having a conflict of interest for wearing a jacket to the opening of the Tesoro Iron Dog race in February that feautured the logo of the sponsor of her husband’s team. Palin has been forced to set up a legal defense fund to help pay for fees related to an onslaught of ethic complaints.

Palin said of the people who have filed the complaints: “Those are the folks who want to tell me, they want to tell you, to sit down and shut up. We will not do that. I just can’t, because I love my state. I love my country.”

Here’s a great quote that was left out since it was CNN that reported on it (just a little biased):

“I am just a mom; I’m a proud Alaskan hockey mom.  I love my country, I’m concerned about my kids’ future and your kids’ future.  I was raised where it is rugged, and you’ve got to be tough with dogged determination in order to survive sometimes.”

Governor Palin was introduced by Eddie Burke (a radio show host in Alaska) and he said the following:

“Pardon me Governor for saying this, but Barry Goldwater Jr. recently said ‘She is attractive, she is smart, she’s got the right message, and she doesn’t take crap from anyone.’”

Audio of her speech.  (And yes, she does say “SCREW POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!!!”)

Michele Bachmann has also been incredibly outspoken over the last few months, especially regarding ACORN.  She has been trying to pass legislation that would not allow ACORN or any other institution that receives tax payer funds, under investigation or indictment, to receive them, until all charges are officially dropped.  This of course did not pass in the House, which is run by the Democrats – most likely because ACORN would have been affected and we know that dead voters always have positive effects for those trying to get elected in close races.  Too many politicians would be indicted along with the dirty deeds of ACORN if this was ever investigated completely.  However, Bachmann is starting a petition campaign to get this started and to end ACORN’s funding.

These are the types of people we need to keep our eye on and listen to.  These are the politicians that are not afraid to speak their mind no matter what the repercussions, because they have character and believe in more than themselves – they believe in the individual; they believe in the USA.

Help out Michele and sign her petition here.

Liberals must also be noticing that the women on the right are the more involved, less fearful of the bunch – since they have to go after some of our women who aren’t even politicians, just pundits, bloggers, columnists and commentators, by writing an article about hate f***ing them… The tolerance of liberals never ceases to astound me.

Keep it up ladies!

Specter Stands for Nothing, Falls for Everything

After Arlen Specter’s spectacle last week, where he switched parties for political expedience and a better chance at winning the 2010 election (or so he thought), he is now being snubbed by his new “teammates.”

I don’t think this comes as a surprise to anybody but Specter.  Those who don’t live by principles or standards, and change their mind at the drop of a hat, will inevitably be fooled by anyone and anything.  I guess Arlen expected his new party to adorn him with benefits galore and adulation for his switch and the chance to give the Democrats an official super majority after Franken is seated.

However, some say that the latest snub by the Democrats regarding Specter has probably more to do with the fact that nobody can trust a man who can change political parties that fast and only for self-centered reasons.  The Dems don’t trust the guy because of his recent “no” vote on the budget and some other odd things that have come out of his mouth since his “change of heart.”

Those problems — in brief:

• Specter pronounced that he would be keeping his seniority when he announced his party switch last week — maintaining that his ability to deliver for the state would not be diminished in any way shape or form by his move across the aisle. Except, that wasn’t exactly right. The Senate’s approval of Specter’s junior status on a series of committees led to a “he said, he said” between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) and the newest member of his caucus. Asked about the back and forth by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday, Reid stood his ground saying simply: “He is a person who’s been in the Senate since 1980. I think he should be able to handle himself.”

• In a sitdown with the New York Times’ Deborah Solomon, Specter said he was hoping that the Minnesota courts would do “justice” and declare former Republican Sen. Norm Coleman the winner in the contested 2008 election. Whoops! Specter tried to walk the comment back told Reid that he briefly “forgot what team I was on.”

• Specter has done little to back off his initial assertion that his decision to switch parties was based almost entirely on political calculations and had little to do with ideology. While most party switchers are almost certainly guided by personal political concerns (what politician isn’t?), most don’t come right out and say it because it is a turnoff for voters who want to believe that their politicians believe in, well, something.

For Pennsylvania voters — especially Democratic primary voters — this triptych of recent events is likely to be deeply troubling.

“His actions over this past week have done nothing to curry favors with either party,” said Penny Lee, a former senior adviser to Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) and now a Democratic consultant. “He needs to show some willingness to be a Democrat.”

To show Specter the respect he deserves, the Democrats stripped his seniority from him.  Specter is now a junior Democrat Senator, even after being in congress since 1980.  Some will say that this is a childish move by the Democrats and proves that they are really power hungry, control freaks who care more about their ideology than doing the right thing, however, there are those who will also argue that this would be expected from a person with no principles or limited time under their belt as a Democrat.  Either way Specter and the Democrats are both incredibly childish and unethical.  It would be nice to have more people in D.C. that had a back bone, character, and integrity.

Sen. Arlen Specter was unexpectedly stripped of his seniority Tuesday night in a humiliating blow from Democrats who earlier had welcomed the former Pennsylvania Republican’s defection from the GOP. The move not only strips the five-term senator of his legislative clout but also hampers his ability to persuade voters he can still bring influence to issues in Pennsylvania as he approaches election there in 2010. Specter lashed back Wednesday, strongly suggesting he had been betrayed.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, Specter said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., had promised him that his seniority would be preserved.

Oooopsie!

Unfortunately, this entire decision by Specter does not seem to be boding well for his re-election prospects and who could blame the voters of Pennsylvania based on his lack of seniority and the fact that he threw his own constituents under the bus?  Specter may be challenged by Joe Sestak in the primaries.  If the Democratic strategists are paying attention, they will probably back a REAL Democrat rather than a faux Democrat who switched in order to win.  I think the Democrat voters will feel the same way.

Obama Governs the United States Through Polling Trends

This is just plain dumb!  You don’t run a company, a state, a city, a town or the U.S. by polling and popularity – it will bite you in the A$$.

The problem I see with polling so often as the article actually indicates is that you will flip-flop on way too many issues and will never stand by principles.  People’s minds change all the time depending on the times and whatever it is they may be going through.  For example, I had a friend sign up for E-harmony, and he took that survey they require you to fill out; he took it twice.  Each survey result was incredibly different because, he had a different mindset and mood each time he took the survey.  Same thing goes for these polls that are conducted by Rasmussen, Zogby etc.

It’s good to know what the public is thinking but how can you ever be trusted by anyone if you never stand strong on your principles and always change your mind depending on other people’s moods.  That seems pretty empty and shallow to me.

As President Barack Obama works to sell the American people on a sweeping agenda of domestic spending and policy changes, he’s relying on three men who have gone through neither Senate confirmation nor cable news spin cycles.

Data from pollsters Joel Benenson and Paul Harstad has become increasingly important to shaping the White House’s message as the crucial battle over the president’s budget intensifies.

“The pace [of polling] is picking up,” said one source familiar with the data.

In addition, David Binder, a San Francisco-based focus group expert, also has been traveling the country taking the national temperature on issues like energy and health care, others close to the White House said.

Most people I know, Democrat or otherwise, are not keen on the energy push and health care push at this point in time when there are still so many uknowns with the economy.  Most Republicans are against those agenda items so you almost have to have more than 50% not fond of that idea currently… however, Obama is still pushing this as an agenda item so how can this be the true temperature of the country?
