Conservatives are discovering more details on Sotomayor as the days tick on. She is quite an accomplished woman and had been on the fast track to becoming a leading national judge (at least by the pace at which she was moving up the ranks). However, she already had various critics back in 1997 like Rush Limbaugh who saw her coming a mile away and knew she could one day be nominated for SCOTUS. Limbaugh, in 1997, warned listeners that this woman was extremely progressive and liberal in her judgments and leanings.

The president of the National Organization of Women (NOW) has even made an official statement that Sonia is in fact “very progressive.”

The Republicans in the senate are focusing on Sotomayor’s speech that she gave at the University of California, Berkeley (School of Law) back in 2001. Her lecture at Berkeley was published in La Raza Journal, which made a blatant racist remark when comparing one race over another as to which of those races would make better decisions. 29 Republicans in 1998, when Sotomayor was nominated for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, voted against her for this very reason, as well as her tendency to legislate and be an activist from the bench.

For a little more information on the extremism of La Raza go here.

Newt Gingrich has been on the attack with this one nomination and it is something he apparently feels very strongly about – it may have to do with the history of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals when she was nominated back in 1998 while Newt was still Speaker of the House. Newt has called Sonia Sotomayor an outright racist and has asked for her to withdraw her name from the SCOTUS nod.

I personally think that when it comes to measuring somebody’s merit and ability – personal feelings aside, what really matters is their record - and this final detail that has come to fruition is incredibly important. Her opinions have a 60% reversal rate…

Three of the five majority opinions written by Judge Sotomayor for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals and reviewed by the Supreme Court were reversed, providing a potent line of attack raised by opponents Tuesday after President Obama announced he will nominate the 54-year-old Hispanic woman to the high court.

“Her high reversal rate alone should be enough for us to pause and take a good look at her record. Frankly, it is the Senates duty to do so,” said Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America.

The most frustrating aspect of this entire nomination is the media playing it up to be the first ever Hispanic nominated to the Supreme Court – which just isn’t true. We could go back in history and technically find that Cardozo per the article yesterday, was the first, but even if that is questionable there is Miguel Estrada, who was nominated by a Republican and was a Conservative. Democrats did not care about his remarkable history, growing up in Honduras and legally immigrating to the United States without being able to speak English and breaking through barriers to go to Columbia University and then onto Harvard Law School. The Democrats demoralized this man because he was a Conservative and didn’t fit the Conservative mold – he had to be destroyed – the same thing happened to Clarence Thomas – another from humble beginnings, who was a black man and a Conservative. We could go back through time, but why? We had an example of this very thing with the past election; Sarah Palin. A female who came from the lower middle class, if that, who had to pay her way through college, lived in a state that truly is the last frontier, and still isn’t all that developed, worked her way up politically by working hard and never giving up. But to liberals, a Female, a Black, and a Hispanic should only be democrats, not republicans – those who go against the mold need to be destroyed before anyone else; they are the biggest threats. The liberals want to make this nomination into this historically wonderful thing, bamboozling the dumbed down masses, attempting to brainwash them into thinking that Sonia truly is the first of her kind to be nominated, when that is an out and out lie. Ann Coulter talks about this in greater detail on Good Morning America.

Just when you think that the elites in the media, the beltway, and the government couldn’t get any lower they go ahead and ask Wanda Sykes to speak at the Correspondents’ dinner in D.C.

Wanda is most definitely an edgy comedian and she has always been a favorite of mine due to her comic delivery and her offensive remarks that seemed to be equal opportunity for all. However, she never became too political in any of her routines and that is why I was such a huge fan in my early twenties.

However, all of that has changed since the comedian came out of the closet this past year due to prop. 8 and Barack Obama. She has continued to blast conservatives and republicans – for what reason, I don’t know, perhaps in in an effort to change their minds and be more accepting to the gay community? Attacking an opinion, with a tirade or diatribe, does not change the hearts and minds of many. In fact, the way in which conservative opinions are attacked appear to be more intolerant than the original qualm liberals seem to have with Republicans in the first place. Unfortunately, the ignorant masses will never realize the double standards unless they truly do their homework and research politics, as well as the incidents that are conveniently forgotten by the MSM.

Usually this dinner is in much better taste, where the headliner/comedian only roasts the president or his/her administration. This year was something entirely different and what made it ten times worse, in my opinion, was how much Barack Obama seemed to enjoy the slams against former VP candidates and their children, Rush Limbaugh, 9/11 , McCain’s wife, etc.

The tired excuse of Obama being just too likable to roast is getting old and really dumb to any independent thinking individual. At this point, between him and Biden, it would be incredibly easy to roast them. SNL still won’t flat out make fun of Obama, when they have every opportunity to rather, they go after the safer of the two; Biden. There is something inherently wrong with people, comedians, and the media who cannot seem to joke around about someone. I would assume that people are too afraid of the repercussions if they did make fun of him and possibly getting called a racist. Heaven forbid the left uses their obligatory race card AGAIN… Or perhaps they just happen to know that Obama doesn’t have a sense of humor to begin with.

Obama did alright last night, but now Hollywood wants to claim he is the next king of comedy… I personally thought Bush was much funnier and much better at self-deprecation. I knew people who personally worked for Bush and said the same thing. Obama is not funny in his personal life or at work. He tries to deliver jokes but is a beat or two off. I give him a B for a valiant effort, but it still fell a little flat – just my opinion in regards to wit and humor. (Different strokes for different folks)…

The most offensive comments of the evening came from none other than Wanda herself, regarding Rush Limbaugh and joking that he was the 20th hijacker involved with 9/11 but stayed home because he was too “hopped” up on Oxycontin to remember the plot. She spoke about Rush wanting Obama to fail (because he wants his policies to fail), but rather than make a witty quip about how great Obama’s policies really are or about Rush’s radio show, she wished he would die of kidney failure. She also made reference to Sarah Palin withdrawing last minute the day before the event and made reference to abstinence and Bristol Palin. The most benign zinger of the evening regarding a republican was in reference to John McCain and his wife Cindy. John McCain was apparently jealous of the helicopter that Obama gets to ride in and said that Cindy could just buy one for him.

It’s usual for a comedian during a regular routine at some local bar to use the audience and make fun of them, but not at a formal event in which a true roast is supposed to take place. It was low class and set a new low for the event. I am even more disenchanted with all those involved and all who laughed and cheered, including the President himself, at the jokes which had to stoop low enough to bash an 18 year old and wished for the death of another human being. I figure if Wanda wants to call a spade a spade and state that every addict should die then she should have included Biden’s daughter in on that joke and hoped that all the coke she snorted would make her heart fail… but it’s only “trendy” and “hip” to attack Conservatives when you are a liberal elitist or part of the establishment for that matter.

I will never be able to understand how it is that liberals can justify anything that their party does, even when it is so over the line and uncalled for. When/if a Republican reacts in such a demeaning fashion, I hope they are called on the carpet for it and held accountable IMMEDIATELY. I have no problem admitting that a Republican is corrupt, mean, nasty, or unjustified in a remark that was made, but liberals lack the ability to do the same towards their own. It’s called honesty and I hope that some liberals get a clue. Sadly, though, it is becoming evident that liberals are so secularized that they do not not have any moral standards at all… pathetic really. What’s worse is that Obama or somebody higher up had to approve this comic set first, and the more Obama laughed the more you realize how detached and emotionless he really is to things that should upset most normal individuals. The same goes for the media elites.

The Obama administration condemned the jokes aimed at 9/11 in a statement made by Robert Gibbs today. What was left out of their denunciation of the Saturday night snobbery gala, was the actual statements calling for the death of an individual and the attack on a child as well as abstinence education. Wanda Sykes may not have to worry about getting pregnant but young children should be taught the lessons and one of those lessons should be the only sure fire way to avoid it, and STDs, at all costs – abstinence. I was afforded the lesson when I was in grade school and so should all children.

On a side note, with all the 9/11 mockery going on, namely the Air Force One flyover, the initial denial of the event, the condemning of the event, the firing of a White House aide, the jokes about the Obama daughters and the flyover and Obama’s giggling during the Wanda Sykes 20th hijacker segment – I tend to believe that this administration thinks terrorism and attacks on this country are a laughing matter…

One Big Ass Mistake America… Progressives are the antithesis of all that is good and moral in this world. They really have no standards at all.

Discussing the Republican listening tour conducted by Former Governors Jeb Bush (FL) and Mitt Romney (MA), radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said they are “embarrassed” by Sarah Palin.

Limbaugh said the underlying issue of these speaking engagements is that Bush and Romney “hate” and “despise” the Alaska Governor and former running-mate of John McCain. Limbaugh added they have “presidential perspirations” and called their tour an “early campaign event.”
Limbaugh defended Palin and heralded her as the “most prominent and articulate voice” for conservatism.

Rush concluded this “need to praise” President Obama leaves him “wanting.”

She is the quintessential Conservative and she lives and breathes conservatism in her every day life! Time to stop getting all caught up with these elitists and establishment figures. They are just as much about power and control as the Democrats… it’s time that some Republicans also wake up to this fact.

“We understand that Governor Jindal has had some problems with public speaking lately, but turning to Rush Limbaugh to be your new speechwriter doesn’t help,” DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said in a statement sent to the media. “What we know has failed is the reflexive partisan politics of the past that Rush Limbaugh and his Republican party continue to be mired in.
